Puerto Rico has had at least one referendum on independence that I remember hearing about, and it was rejected.
There is no blockade on Cuba (there was one, briefly, durring the Kenedy Administration - google 'Cuban Missle Crisis'), the existing trade sanctions would likely be lifted if Cuba liberalizes after the passing of Castro.

Just because something is low in numbers doesn't mean its insignificant. Like the fact that we only had 2 atomic bombs compared to all the napalms and other bombs we had in ww2. But it only took one atomic bomb instead of millions of other bombs and napalms to win the war.

Where did you get 85%? According to the US census in 1990 Mexicans make up 61% & Puerto ricans are 12%, Has the mexican population gone up that much already? Anyway if you look at the link below- go to pg 6 of 12 for the info.

Also this doesnt make other hispanics insignifigant next to mexicans, it only makes hispanics closer to being the majority, instead of a minority.
