I don't want to be dependent on foreign food. I'd rather subsidize the farmers to hire legal workers (giving above poverty level wages would reduce the cost of and drain on our services like education and health care in any event.)
Look at history and the famines across Europe after World War II. I don't want to be both unpopular AND without agriculture, thank you very much.
The US' agriculturalists are the best in the world, why get rid of them? And if ethanol takes off they will become a staple part of our economy.

The only deportation I can see happening is getting illegals out of the USA, period.
With this way of thinking, I should just sell my 170 acres, 15 horses, 16 cows, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in farming equipment? All ignorant remarks aside, I enjoy my rural lifestyle and will continue to do so as long as I am able. Many reasons factor into why we buy food from other countries, try to read up on it.

The problem are not the farmer. the problem are all the illegals that are working in farming or not. Deport them all.
