Tenants don't know how to park ..?

my family just purchased a 2 family home and the tenants on the other side have always parked on the lawn infront of the house .. the prior owner obviously didn;t find a problem with this. ihate that they do this .. what should be a front lawn is nothing but dirt and grassy patches .. they have ample parking available in their driveway . but they always have visitors that park onthe lawn .. so any time of day or night 7 days a week ther are atleast 2 or 3 cars parked here. how can i tell them nicely to stop this sh*t! we've owned the home now for only 3 weeks no all this is new to me. every other house on this tree lined block has a lovely garden and tree filled front until you get to my house ... i 'm just short of making these people move out!

Answer:
Leave a notice on their door to let them know that you will be working on the property and that there will no longer be parking allowed anywhere but in their driveway. Before you start working on your garden, border the area where they used to park with some good-sized rocks (bowling ball size or larger). It will look nice and mess up the vehicles if they choose to ignore you. After all, you warned them!
You have to look into your deed restrictions and if they are in violation have those a-holes on the civic community harass the hell out of them.
If you own the property, and the property is private you can have the vehicles towed at your expense. You can then recover the the money for the fees when the owner goes to get their vehicle.
To help your cause, place a no parking sign on a pole if you have one in front of your house or post one in your yard.
Of course, do this if asking them to move their vehicles and not to park there has not worked.
Just let them know that you do not want them to do it. Say it did not bother the old owners but that you don't want them to do it. If they don't stop contact your attorney and have them put an amendment to their lease if they park on the front lawn that they will be fined, the car towed and they will have to pay the fines. Money talks. Just remember you get more flies with honey then vinegar, start nicely and they might listen.
Tell them you want to plant new grass and make the yard look nice, so please use the driveway from now on. Then foloow up with grass seed and watering.
Flatten their tires, quietly.
either, build a fence, call a tow truck and have the vehicles towed at owners expense(put up sign first), or call police make report of trespassing
If your family owns the entire building, they can place rules on the tenant. If however, they only own there half, then it is none of your business what the people renting the other half do. That said, there is a possibility, as mentioned in another answer, that there are community rules in place which would allow a complaint to be filed. But back to the family owning the entire building. If this is so, does everyone mind the destruction of the front lawn, or is this strictly your pet peave. In any event, owership brings priviledge, but also responsibility. Maybe you should just ask them to leave, and when they ask why, you would then have the opportunity to explain it to them.
I'm somewhat confused as to why this question is in the immigration section? Shouldn't it be real estate. If it's because your tenants are immigrants then you should be aware of the fact that you don't have to tell them a special way or in another language. Just ask them nicely not to park on the lawn. If they continue to do it then consider putting a small fence, large stones, or bushes around the edge.
Ehh, what does this have anything to do with immigration??
Well you own the home correct? Making htem move out could be tough (and expensive) even if they don't have a lease because of local laws.

To begin write down evrytime you communicate with them and what was said. If it comes down to it you may need it as since they are like this with this who knows what else may come up later. Also take pictures and write down the license plates of the visitors.

Of course first be polite and speak with them even if you have done so before. If that does not work you need to start being proactive. You now know what kind of tenants you have.

Next send them a letter requesting them to not park in the grass. Make sure you have it notarized (at any bank) and send it certified mail. This will give you proof in court.

Another thing is to start working on the yard. Take more pictures and keep any reciepts for plants, grass seed or whatnot.

If you really want to get to it consider this. though you did not say what sort of people they seem to be. One of the big indicators the police use to identify houses that have potential drug use is lots of cars parked outside of a house or cars coming and going. Even if you went to the police station and inquired about what would a landlord do if they suspect such will contribute to your log that you are keeping. It begs the question as to why they would park on the grass if there is parking.

Inquire at the local housing authority as to what it takes to evict. This goes in your log as well.

There are many things that you can do but rule of thumb when renting is to cover your butt.
