Libby Sentence Commuted, Border Patrol Agents Still in Jail?
"I have one question. I just heard on the news that President Bush has pardoned Libby. What about our Border Patrol agents like Ramos and Compeon...they were just doing their jobs to protect America...they don't count? Why has everyone seemed to have forgotten them.they do more to protect our citizens than Libby. I know , they just didn't have enough money. What has happened to OUR NATION" -- Patti
"What about our 2 loyal and patriotic U.S Border Patrol agents railroaded by the Fed's for trying to protect our southern border from an illegal alien drug smuggler?" -- Mark
"In hearing the news today in which President George W. Bush commuted the prison sentence for a known liar in I. Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby, it angers me that two border agents still remain in jail protecting the citizens of this country."
Answer:
Because when he commuted Libby's sentence he only offended citizens of the United States, if he pardons the agents, then he offends Mexicans.
as you should have realized before now even when the verdict was handed down that the Libby made a deal with the VP to take the rap in exchange of course for the VP paying the fine, and getting him pardoned probably also a chair on the Haliburton board as well for his loyalty to the boss, Bush does not want anything but amensty for illegals so naturally he will not pardon the border patrol agents after all what is in it for him
I don't understand why either but it is bull**** if you ask me... It is really not right...
There are two systems of justice in this country.one for people like us.and one for people like them (Bush Co.)...the border patrol agents get the same justice as us, and Libby is one of them... get it ?
Both the border patrol agents, and Libby broke the law.neither should get a pardon or sentence commuted.
I agree. It's bullsh*t.

I'm not sure if this is a question or a statement, and I'm unfamiliar why 2 boarder patrol agents had been jailed.
My feeling is that if you break the law, and receive punishment then you should be subject to that punishment.
If you subsequently apply for a commutation or pardon, then there should be good & sufficient reason for a President to grant that pardon.
I don't believe that political connections constitutes a good reason. Perhaps there is another reason we have not been made aware of.
