We moved from London to NewZealand, and now my Husband wants to go back. How can i be sure it is what i want?
1) He was being paid alot more in London and so was I, we have not found job satisfaction here
2) our family is over there, although my side of the family were seriously thinking about coming here also
3) we were quite social and enjoyed the theatres, concerts and travel that the UK offers.
4) We have a few good friends who would be pleased that we are back.
Though i understand all the reasons for going back i feel so extremely scared, not long after i went back to London from travelling the last time i was mugged and attacked, i work in fashion industry and find that alot of the work is not in the central city and often in areas that are possibly dangerous.
I discussed my issues with my father and he has called us Crazy he said that people are getting knifed everyday in London.
I feel so sad and confused about this that i have been off work for three days. I dont want to get so depressed that i cant think clearly
Answer:
Sounds like you didn't do your 'homework' before you left London.
I'm an Australian and know that NZ is a great place. Give the country and yourself a chance. Try something new. There is more to the world than fashion.
I tend to agree with your Dad.
You may want to visit Australia after a while and check it out if you want something bigger but give NZ a chance.
I've toyed with the idea of living there for a while myself.
I'll try to answer your question using the points you made.
1) He was being paid alot more in London and so was I, we have not found job satisfaction here
He may be paid less but I bet the cost of living in NZ is much less. Try a different job
2) our family is over there, although my side of the family were seriously thinking about coming here also
A lot of people from London have done it before you. My neighbor came from London and holidayed in London occasionally.
3) we were quite social and enjoyed the theatres, concerts and travel that the UK offers.
NZ has a great deal to offer other than concerts and theaters although I'm sure they do offer some 'quality' in that area
4) We have a few good friends who would be pleased that we are back.
I'm sure that there are a lot of 'potential 'good friends' in NZ

Sounds like a good reason to stay in NZ
I discussed my issues with my father and he has called us Crazy he said that people are getting knifed everyday in London.
I tend to agree

Homesickness can be very debilitating and depressing. One of the best things you could do is talk about it to 'real' people. I'm sure that there are community groups that can and are keen to help.
It sounds as though you want to go back to the UK. If you do so, maybe you should find other work that won't take you into those possibly dangerous neighborhoods.
