Would you rather have an illegal Mexican?
Answer:
100% be with illegal. They did nothing excepted violating laws..that's all.
It's a lose-lose because we already have plenty of both.
This is unmitigated bunk, all of it.
a mexican over a terrorist but i think everyone should have an equal oppertunity after all this country was founded on immigrants both legal and illegal
WHY the choice? Boot 'em both out at gunpoint, if necessary!
This dedicated, hard-working, selfless, devoted father of 12, brother of 9, grandfather of 26 is faithfully picking the fruit for my breakfast while he collects welfare, has his children's health needs covered and educated for free & gets more food stamps per month than 5 year's worth of food he picked.
I rather have this humble NON-English speaking transient, law-breaker sent back to the hell hole he came from and quit leeching off the American taxpayer he takes for granted and disrespects!
BUT
Let's face it, the Muslims don't belong in any free civilized nation. Check out the countries they come from and how oppressed those people are. See how their roads are dirt, electricity is meager at best, and their standard of living is lower than USA's lowest. Let these Killers and Bombers clean up their own part of the world before trying to mess up everywhere else.

would you rather be stabbed or beaten to a bloody pulp?
illegal is illegal!!
a crime is a crime!
round them all up imprison them and then deport them with a microchip tracking device implanted in them!
when you are an illegal you have NO rights and NO freedoms!!!
I wouldn't want either of them.
If the illegal, Mexican or not, was a hard worker, he would have worked for his citizenship. If he wanted a better life, he would have taken the precautions before coming here so he could live peacefully instead of in fear of being deported.
Get legal or face the consequences.
There is absolutely no excuse.
And just so you're aware, most of the fruits and vegetables we eat are imported.. I grew up on a farm, don't tell me that the illegal Mexican is the only worker capable of harvesting food.
A job that nobody wants? Excuse me, the American citizen is entitled to that job.. WE have done those jobs before - I know because I've done them.. Stop saying that illegals do jobs Americans don't want because THAT is a myth.
What about the hard-working American who is breaking their back, staying up late at night, working their tail end off - or do you not care about your fellow American as much as your illegals?
I think I would prefer not to have EITHER.
I'd rather have neither. And the government should do a little more to get rid of the former. And keep working at keeping out the latter, but maybe a bit more ethically sometimes.
Both are illegal, and it is hard to tell the difference. We have seen a sharp rise in crime in the latin populations for some time now, so I'm more worried about illegals than terrorists at the moment.
Furthermore, just because they pick the fruit and vegetables we eat means nothing if we cannot afford them. Americans have less money paying for illegal's free public services and crime, so its harder for us the food to put on our table.
hmmmm.... well my family raised me on jobs Americans wont do. so my answer is neither(moms a house keeper and my dad was a carpenter)
First of all tell me how to tell them apart . 7 yrs ago I went to find work in construction . I looked all over 3 counties here in Texas . The last one I went to I was told by a secretary not to bother to try and find work in construction because I could not speak spanish and I was not mexican . That's all they would hire . So if you want to talk about hard working people think about this . Oil is mexico's #1 money maker #2 is American dollars going into mexico . So how are they helping the economy in the US when they send it home ?
This whole fruit thing is a scam. These framers do not want pay anything but they sure intend to reap huge profits. Another troubling aspect is you have folks picking fruit without under going any kind of health check..You are dealing with food for human consumption and there rules in place. Ones work ethic does not justify that certain laws do not apply to special people while the rest us must obey the law or else.. Imagine a child molester picking your fruit, yes there is no way to track them..
I have worked with illegal immigrants before. Your flowery description of them is a load of crap.
They are criminals who took a short cut ahead of their own countrymen who now have to wait much longer than they should to get into this country.
All that I have met know how to get forged documents, and steal someone's identity. They also have no problem committing fraud to steal much more public assistance money than the person they are pretending to be is actually entitled to.
Although what you say is true about many illegals being hardworking, decent people, the truth is that the terrorists, drug runners, and human traffickers are using the same routes across the border that your "good" Mexicans are. Therefore, sealing our borders is a matter of national security.
And about those "good" Mexicans, think of it this way: they're still breaking our laws. If someone smashes a window and breaks into your house, does your dishes, starts a load of wash, and vacuums the floor, when you get home, are you going to care that they did all that? Of course not! They're an intruder and you want them out! And what if he brought his family along, who's not as nice as he is, and started having babies and raising them in your house? And then you had to feed and clothe them and pay their bills and take them to the hospital when they were sick? Would you like that? I don't think so. Well, that's really what's happening in America today. Illegals are flooding this country, and using the same government services and health care system that we do, except we're paying for it! Our government and society can't take the strain.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not being mean-spirited. I work with illegal immigrants every day and I respect many of them. It's just that they're taking this country down, and illegal immigration has to be stopped.
Wanda you have my apologies.
ZOE , I can not even imagine a white person picking fruit.
If it were just one person that would be easy and obvious.
But it is 12 to 20 MILLION of them, all taking more in services than they can put in in taxes and all using services here that are failing under the strain. Versus 5 terrorists.
Illegal immigration has cost us a lot more than terrorism has.
Note, however, that at least 5 of the 9/11 terrorists were ALSO illegal immigrants, so the categories do overlap.
I don't want either one. Illegals most definitely DO take jobs poor Americans have to work because they don't have skills either. And, many also take jobs even someone like you might take. They don't all pick fruits and vegetables for a living. Many work in construction, which used to be a very well established job for middle class American workers. Some of the illegals working those jobs are paid over $30K. They also work in the healthcare industry in jobs lots of lower middle class Americans do, like home healthcare and nursing home attendants. Then there are illegals working as import/export mangers, floor managers at places like Walmart and Target, working as receptionists, working as leasing office sales reps in apartment communities, truck drivers making over $50 K, even software developers who overstayed student visas and worked without permission... and I can keep going.
I have a job where I deal with employment issues and see tax returns, pay stubs, bank accounts, etc. presented by illegal workers EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have yet to see one that picked lettuce for a living, even though I'm very aware that some do. I looked at a tax return from an illegal family today that made nearly $64K between the husband and wife. He's a construction sub-contractor and most of the income was his and earned without employment authorization.
Of course, many work poor, low paying jobs. But so do Poor Americans who need their wages to be higher. Don't you care about them? Or do you only care about your friuts and vegetables, your lawn, and who's gonna built your swimming pool?
What I'm telling you is that you cannot stereotype "illegal Mexicans" as uneducated "hard working" servants just trying to make your life better, like "Uncle Tom", because that's far from the big picture. Many illegals (which are not all Mexican) have decent educations (some higher than many Americans), speak english, and work the same jobs many Americans do. That being said, I don't want them here because those jobs should belong to people here legally and I would never want to make them legal because that wouldn't solve the problem that comes with higher levels of competion for limited jobs, such as lowered wages for everyone involved.
Next, comes the "humble, hard working" part. A large number of the criminals in jail in certain states are illegal aliens. They didn't get there being humble, hard workers. If you check out the numbers in jail in California, New York, Texas, and several border states, you'll see what I mean. (see the sources below for evidence) I'm talking about criminal aliens, not people who are just living here illegally, but those convicted of serious crimes. Illegal criminal aliens are over 29 percent of prisoners in Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities and are an even higher share of all federal prison inmates. Statistics in 2002 showed an average of more than 72,000 aliens have been arrested annually on drug charges alone. Incarceration of criminal aliens cost an estimated $624 million to state prisons (1999) and $891 million to federal prisons (2002), according to previous Bureau of Justice Statistics. I don't know current stats off hand, but they're probably higher.
No, I don't want either one here. And, I think you might want to educate yourself on this issue. It will open your eyes to the truth. Keep in mind I'm not talking about LEGAL immigrants, just ILLEGAL ones, and not just Mexicans, not just hispanics. Anyone from any country and any culture can be an illegal alien.
Oh, one more thing. Mexico's economy has been rated #14 out of 181 countries by the International Monetary Fund in 2006 and #13 by the World Bank on a list of 183 countries in 2005. They are listed higher than countries like Austrailia, Switzerland, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, Austria, Denmark, etc, none of which have high illegal populations here. Mexico's current unemployment rate is only 3.2% while ours is 4.8%. They just don't know how to run their country without corruption. That's not an indictment of the culture. It's a comment on their politics and government.
That should put it to bed...
Give me a thumbs down if you don't like this answer. I don't give answers for "points", so I don't care if I never get a thumbs up. I answer because I get a chance to speak out against what I feel is wrong. For some of you, the truth hurts. For the rest, thanks for listening and start letting your voice heard when it comes time to vote.
