I disagree, but how can I "go back" to a place I've never been? I was born and raised in Texas, I speak English and I'm not going anywhere.
Most Mexicans I have met would disagree with you. They left Mexico because it sucked, and if the Southwest turned into Mexico it would be just like the rest of Mexico and they would move.
I think it would constitute and act of War against the People of the United States of America by the People of Mexico.
Considering the considerable economic benefit Mexico reaps from it's relationship with the USA, though, I think it's something that is so vanishingly unlikely as to be of no consquence whatsoever. A mere rhetorical device used to convince fools that they should emmigrate to the US and send thier dollars back to Mexico.

If by reconquista you mean filling them with a bunch of sheepish know nothing, uneducated, corrupt, and shiftless idiots, I'd say you're too late. Hell California by itself is worth more than 10 times what Mexico is. If it becomes a serious problem we may have to do a repeat of 1848 and conquer all of Mexico in a month or so. Should only take the Alabama national guard about a week to do. Hell, Mexico gets most of it's money from illegals making it in the US and sending it back.
