Why is our government talking about building a fence around the U.S.?
Answer:
Talking about it is all they're doing. Our government wants the people to believe they're serious about securing the borders. The new "comp. immigration reform" (you know, that "non-amnesty") bill is an open invitation to all aliens to come in. The borders will be wide open. A fence without law enforcement is useless, and you have seen what happens when the border patrol agents do their job.
C-SPAN was flashing some provisions in the bill on which they were voting, and one was to make the building of tunnels at the border illegal. It's illegal to just walk across the border and they're still coming. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be hilarious.
Because it will prevent more people from coming in.
At this point, the immigration situation is a crisis. *Anything* that helps it should be tried.
(btw- When was the last time you saw an illegal hijack a helicopter?? Don't be silly.)
you're right we don't need a fence we need a wall and barbed wire maybe some land mines
Maybe because the border patrol isn't doing there job. or there is not enough of them, they could use the money to hirer more patrol officers.
It's not going to to go around the entire border. it will go into hard to monitor or high traffic areas. more then likely someone is not going to scale a wall when they can go around it a few miles away, that's where the patrol will be along with cameras and sensors.
but another person here was right, we need a wall like the great wall of china around the southern border and hard to monitor spots in the north. LOL those canucks can be dangerous LOL
A wall is a lot nicer way of slowing down the flow of invaders than some methods we could choose.
Besides, it's a clear signal to Mexico that it's time they started acting like neighbors instead of thieves.
