What do foreigners eat?

What was the first thing you ate in America (if you live/d in U.S.) and what did you think of it? Did it change your view of America at all?

Also if you are a foreigner in another country you can answer too!

Answer:
first thing my mum ate was fish fingers with chips and peas -she hated it and wanted to go back home, but didn't have enough money for a plane ticket.
i like the mcdonald food yes
They eat ethnic food.
friends of mine from europe said they were taken aback by the bread here. you know, of the mrs bairds variety, the kind you buy in plastic bags. said it tastes like a sponge. lol they have a point. i dont really like it either.
I'm from the US but the first thing I ate when I went to Spain was paella. Definately better then the fake kind you get here.
Food!
My memory isn't that good, but I'm pretty sure it was a milk product.
first thing i ate went i went to Cayman Islands 15 years ago was turtle!!!
Steak, Baked potato, everything on it, big salad and garlic bread.
I'm Polish and live in Chicago we have tons of Polish stores and restaurants here so I ate things I bought there. But the stuff such as breads, deli cuts etc do taste different than the ones back home. First month or so I was do grossed out by the taste of things that I mostly ate fruits and lost about 10 lbs.
We foreigners like to eat everything you eat. It's all about culture. Do we fit in and eat the foods around us or do we eat only what mom has made for us?

I was born in California. I was very lucky to taste all sorts of different foods from all over the world in one state. I think it's very interesting how, if one goes to a big city, there is so much variety. And if you live in a small town and have access to to local regional foods, there is a wonderful uniqueness to this as well.

I'd hate to think that American food is one type of thing...burgers or what not (though this is actually, a German type of food). Food, historically, is about what you can afford and what is available. It's really quite amazing.
Pureed cauliflower. It did not change my mind on America.
I remember eating Taco Bell (corn tortias)on my first few days here, and i hated it, havent been to Taco Bell since.
I don't know what they eat I am English so you must be the foreigner so tell us ;-)
