I suppose all of your ancestors came here legally. Without immigrants there would be no heartbeat in this country. Most of our ancestors came from another country and doubtful that it was all legal. Pesos are used in Mexico or the Philippines. I don't believe that form of currency is used elsewhere.

Its not really just as simple as them taking the jobs we won't do, most of those jobs "we" won't do are highly demanding in contrast to how much they pay. I could take a job at $7 an hour in a meatpacking plant cutting up slabs of beef cattle but why the hell would I want to wear myself out every day for so little money? But then again if I sneaked in here from another country, knew very little English and had no proper documents and the meatpacking plant management did not seem to mind those facts, then I think I would probably take the job. The real problem is all these service industry/agriculture employers whine and whine and whine that they have to hire illegal immigrants because Americans won't take those jobs is because they expect us to put out 110% on the job and accept being paid peanuts for it with a big smile on our face! Did you know most farmers receive government aid on a scale several times larger than the amount we pay to all the people who get welfare? Now who's being cheap? What do you have against Mexicans anyway? They are just trying to earn some money to feed their families and pay the bills like anyone else does in this country. I only have a beef with the ones that sneak into this country and then demand to be absolved of that fact. No one would give them a hard time if they applied to get in this country like all the other immigrants do.

It's all about supply and demand....the greater the demand for the job, the greater the salary. THe less the demand, the less the salary.
WHen I was hiring nannies for my (then) small son. I had plenty of choices between mexican women and college aged american girls. The latter were legal; I hired them. The price was the same. Only if I had hired the mexican ladies there sure didn't want me filing the employer taxes and FICA with the IRS..because the IRS would be after them for the taxes..
