Congress does not think logically, they are incapable of that feat.
There will be millions more cars on the roads, and probably less than 10% of them will be adequately insured. A lettuce picker will not make enough money to feed his family of twelve, pay rent or a mortgage, pay for healthcare, and pay to insure his vehicle. And, his vehicle will most likely be an older model that does not have the fuel efficency of a newer model.
Plus the noise !! The roadways will sound like swarms of bees !!!

Adding more people who take public transportation to work instead of owning and driving a car will help but most of them will probably also vote Democratic.
Adding more (highly educated people in all regards except energy conservation) will add more drivers - more of them will possibly vote Republican.

If you believe there is a fuel crisis you are not as intelligent as you think you are. Seriously! The only crisis is artificially inflated pricing due to artificially created slowdowns in production at the refinery. This is old news. It used to happen once per decade and now its on a three year cycle. Read independent news sources and you will learn much more about this country.
It's not just the fuel. Our food is going up too! Has anyone else noticed how much a dang gallon of milk is now? Here in California we are going to have a water shortage as well.

1a. The United States has about 5% of the world's population but we use up 25% of the world's energy including 20 million barrels of oil a day.
2. This fuel crisis will likely lead to more uprooted people. That will mean more immigration not less.
3. The solution to the fuel problems isn't blaming the immigrants that's just a distraction from the real issue and actual hard choices regarding fuel economy.
4. Real solutions to problem include carpooling, public transportation, alternative fuels, population control (on a global scale) and more fuel efficient modes of transportation.
Logically, no. Here is why: more fuel buyers, less fuel for the other residents. Supply & demand, the prices will sky-rocket.
I do see the immigrants taking a lot of public transportation though, so the impact may not be a great as anticipated, just a whole lot less room on the train. Those lower paid workers are gonna get that job... so I will be forced to drive for another.
I dobt it. Because just today I saw a mini van with about 15 illegals in it. They love to carpool.
Fuel Shortage come one we are in IRAQ! Hello! The only reason prices of gas are so high is because the government does not control the cost of gas. Fuel shortage... no.
There is a cereal shortage because those damn Lucky Charms are about $5.00 a box! That's more than a gallon of gas! We are doomed!

Fresh water supplies will disappear.
Home heating costs will skyrocket.
Real estate costs will go up so high our kids will always live at home or 20 to a house like the illegals.
Property taxes will have to go way up to build all the schools for the estimated 50-100 million new citizens.
Hospitals will close and those that stay open will be he11holes.
This bill will ruin this countries future. I wish I had as much money as our senators so that I could just live in a gated community and send my kids to private schools.
