Has anyone seen the movie "Border War"?
My experiences have made me believe that they are hard-working, family-supporting people who only wish for a better life for themselves and their families. After watching the film I was overwhelmed with this feeling that, while I am a citizen of the US, I don't have the necessary experiences to make a decision that would affect the border states much more than it would affect me. I don't know what it is like to have my property destroyed on a nightly basis by illegal immigrants who leave trash that kills my livestock when they eat it or watch the educational system in my city decline, or hospitals close due to lack of funding and neither do the people in D.C. So who should decide?
Answer:
Hi Sonrisa.Don't believe everything you see. I live on the largest southern border city in the US.We don't have properties destroyed nightly, by illegals or anyone for that matter. We don't have trash or graffiti all over our properties and public buildings either. We have a very good educational system, granted we have extremely high property taxes, education is never cheap...But I am of the idea, why would we want these children (of illegals) ignorant and poor?...Its better to invest in their future, instead of denying them a basic educaton...Thats against our constitution anyways. Our county hospital is the ones who take in illegals. It is the best hospital in the entire city, I don't see it closing down anytime soon. Please don't buy into propaganda.I didn't see this movie, but if you see who produced it, it will tell you a lot about the validity of this movie...
i haven't seen the movie. what your describing is horrible.
The Constitution. The fact stands that these people are invaders and should be punished for their crimes. Just giving them a pat on the back and saying it will be OK is not punishment and neither is this amnesty bill. I have saw from a distance what illegal aliens do, but my breaking point was when they protested last year and started desecrating the flag which "I" have fought for. They continue to do so and youtube is FULL of videos of illegal aliens doing stuff like that.
The illegal aliens are NOT AMERICANS and someone summed it up very nicely this morning..."Their stomachs are in the USA, but their HEARTS are in Mexico." Direct quote, and yes, I DO know the illegals come from all over the world.
Want to see a film sweetcheeks, Hamburger Hill. Now there's a film.
PS: I aggree with Answerer1
I live on the Texas Mexican border...I am sure some of what you saw in that movie is correct. But by in large the movie is exploiting a few individuals for the sake of making money from their movie.
The problem is not those who come across to work it is those who promote violence (gang members) and transporting drugs.
I have lived in Mexico and I know of the conditions they live under, while not pleasant by our standards, most have families and try to have their children educated. They are not criminals!
It would be nice if there was some easy way for those in Mexico to come to a border crossing and pick up a permit allowing workers across for 120 days. The USA has such archaic laws in this regard it makes it extremely difficult to cross unless you are rich and drive a nice car. I see nice new automobiles from Mexico on this side of the border all the time. You can pick out those who drive them because they are dressed to the hilt! as well as their children.
Do not compare all Mexican's by the few that come across with violence or drugs being their motive. Until you live on this border for years you have no idea what it is like. I have seen a worker in the field pistol whipped to the point of having to be put in the hospital because they asked if they could get their shoes. It happened to one of our workers while chopping cotton. My father was almost struck by a Border Patrol aircraft that chased him in our cotton field. He finally had to fall to the ground or be struck by the propeller! I refer to the Border Patrol/FEMA as the U.S. Gestapho because that is how many of them act!
By the way I am anglo.
One thing that you should know is that a lot of this statistics are extremely biased. Lou Dobbs, a reporter who presents such exaggerated stats, has been cought actually giving FAKE facts about illegal immigrants. I, like you, have never seen any of these negative effects of immigrants even when I travel around the country a lot. To me it's just a bunch of political bullcrap used for propaganda and to keep American citizens unaware of everything our government is doing in foreign nations.
Those who have not experienced the invasion of illegals in your own state should still get the facts. Illegal immigration is affecting you via your federal tax dollars at the very least.
Go to numbersusa.com watch the video and read what your own elected officials have to say on the matter.
By the time the invasion reaches the northern, midwest and eastern states it will be too late.
I live in Arizona and it's pretty bad here. Lots of violent crime now and a lot of illegals here would like nothing more than to see the Americans wiped out. We have had them set fires to block our border patrol which not only puts people in harms way but it destroys the land. The list goes on and on.
Many many years ago this was a beatiful, peaceful place to live and I loved it,never thought about moving. Now I would like nothing more than to leave it,I hate what they've done to it.
