They actually do. As a conservative who watches Fox and CNN, I have witnessed both report that immigration is an issue that the two parties have bonded on, though they rip each others throats out on the rest of the issues.
I don't know for sure. They say they do, but you can never be sure with a Democrat because they waver back and forth. The only thing I do know for a fact is that I sure as heck want borders closed and illegal immigration stopped.

The Dems want wide open borders. The more illegals, the more they can get on welfare as a way of buying their vote.
They want this nation to cease to exist as sovereign nation and melt into a EU type of government where Mexicans and Canadians can have complete access to our money, medical care and welfare.
We as a country will gain nothing from it only the Mexicans will.

No. Democrats are pro amnesty.
The national Democratic party favors giving citizenship to most of the aliens who are in this country illegally. They voted to build a border fence, but they will not provide the money to build more than a small fraction of the fence. Senator Kennedy and some other Dems, along with John (Open Borders) McCain are currently working on a bill to grant amnesty to over 10 million illegal aliens. The majority of the illegals are Mexicans who have no intention of giving up their Mexican citizenship and culture.
Nothing will prevent businesses from hiring new illegal aliens to replace those who are legalized this time. We know from the experience of other countries, that guest workers do not return to their country of origin. We must not believe that our only choice is between immediately deporting the millions of illegals and giving them amnesty. If we enforce our laws, the number of
illegal immigrants will continually diminish through attrition. Many of them will voluntarily return as the supply of jobs is reduced.
We must not allow the traitors in the Senate to give citizenship to those who have broken our laws. You can stop this by emailing, faxing, or writing your US Congressman and demand that they do not vote for the Kennedy/McCain Amnesty Bill!

They keep hoping that if they allow the flow to continue they'll eventually get enough who want nothing more than stamps and free day care... Unfortunately for the Dems so many of the immigrants want to work for a living and build themselves up, not just sit around waiting for a hand-out from Big Government. That really screws up the Democratic agenda.
This Democrat does. Illegal immigration is bad for our country. It undermines the middle class, the working class and the poor. It sucks up public services, crowds our schools and lowers wages and tax revenues.
Yes, we are a country of immigrants. Everyone here including the so called natives came from somewhere else but that was then. Now it doesn't make sense to have wide open borders, not just for economic reasons but for security reasons as well.
Finally, illegal immigrants cannot vote. It is against the law. I know they could break that law too, but why draw attention to themselves? Stop using that as the excuse. The reason why Washington doesn't want to stop the flow is because the rich and powerful like having this cheap labor. If there weren't illegals, they might have to pay living wages or worry about poor working conditions. It would cut into their profit. It is all about greed and anyone who says differently is a liar.
i haven't herd a demarcate say anything about closing the border. the only one i have herd say anything about it is bush.
Why is Ted Kennedy drafting a bill that gives amnesty to illegal immigrants? How many will they let in before they close the border? Or is this just hype to get people to vote democrat.
Not sure - they keep changing their statements however, many ran on a secure border platform last November. Hopefully they will live up to their statements and dump amnesty!
Some do, some don't. The Democrats I speak with are pretty much split about this issue [regardless of what the party heads support]. Republicans are just as split, if you consider the Presidents stance and a coauthor of the Amnesty bill with Senator Kennedy -Senator McCain.
Hopefully they'll all go down and some wiser heads will take the lead.
Each one is different. This is an issue where you have to look at the individual, not the party.
