Texas is sending additional troops to the border?
National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in a mission
dubbed “Operation Wrangler.” The troops will join the 1,700
Army National Guard troops already on the Texas border since
last summer. Gov. Perry is calling the move “just the beginning
of a long-term commitment to rid our state of drug trafficking
and human smuggling.
Will the mission make a dent in the
problem,or is this just another example of state and local law
enforcement trying to pick up the federal government’s slack?
What do you think ?
Answer:
I just hope the new group of National Guard is ready. With what the Bush administration and the U. S. Attorney's office has done with Agents Compean and Ramos; the new agents coming out of the academy are afraid of their own shadow.
They'd better be armed and ready to shoot, unlike the National Guard!
Mexico stations military troops on its borders to nab illegal immigrants into their country - or take bribes to pass them on to the US border.
I believe if we put armed troops on our border, shoot armed drug smugglers, round up everyone else and send 'em back, raid businesses that hire illegals and send 'em back, the problem can be completely solved.
It has been solved before...
I hope it helps {we just keep trying} Maybe something will work. And do you know what the problem really is?
I think it is being done to pick up the federal governments slack. I support our troops in whatever the do, but I do not like the way our government runs this country, it is a real embarrassment. I DO NOT BELEIVE IN SHOOTING ANYONE ON THE BORDER. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SHOOT ANYONE JUST LIKE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO COME TO THE U.S. WITHOUT PAPERS.
Why anyone would want to go to Texas is beyond me. We need to do anything we can to keep the illegal aliens out. Our government is to busy giving aliens more rights than we have and offending anyone than doing what has to be done.
I hope they are armed and prepared now that the drug lords Bush supports are hiring mercenaries to guard their drug shipments.
I think it is another baby step in the right direction. Like the latest raids in the LA area it will get some minds to change. The harder it gets for the illegals to operate without interference the less likely they are to come.
It's a good start but we need the 20,000 troops that Bush is sending to Iraq , to put on the border . This won't be stopped till something tragic happens there . Then everyone will say , " I don't understand why that would happened "
I do not trust Perry at all. He flip flops back and fourth on immigration. The bigger question is will Perry let them have ammo or will he tell them they must run at any sign of danger and call 9-11 for help. The state I live in awarded metals to some National Guard members who were running away from being attacked at the Mexico Border. What you see with Perry is he says's one thing and does another. With Perry everything is the opposite of what it is.
i think it's great. bush said something about volunteers to join the military. i guess they are starting to do something about are borders. i'm a Dem. and i'll be damned if i vote for them this time around.
Sure is nice to get some good news, just hope our governor Perry dont get more of our border patrol thrown in prison for defending the border.Unless enforcements are allowed to actually defend the border it wont make any difference.Lawyers like scumbag Johnny Sutton will be waiting to justify illegals and drugs. But I will keep praying for justice.
that's a good idea...
Instead of sending the 21,000 troops to Iraq we should send them to the southern border....And instead of spending 50 billion dollar's to secure Iraq's an Afghan's border's......Don't you think we should spend it on our border an deport the illegal immigrant's
Texas teaches the country good ideals. It is time someone attempts to enforce the law.
Our land should be protected. If you want to come here, come legally or leave.
Just gotta love those Cowboys! Also Rep Virgil Goode of VA today! Introduced H.Con.Res 40 Stopping the Open Borders and the unification of the United States, Canada and Mexico...More details at NUMBERSUSA.com and alipac.com
It depends on what they are allowed to do. Texas had this great zero tolerance zone by Del Rio last year, that was amazing at driving down crime in the area as well as illegal crossings. If they do something like that and have a truly functioning job, it would work great.
