Answer:
In the short term maybe.
However,
1. Illegals use illegal (stolen or forged documents) to gain employment so the taxes paid in wouldn't change.
2. In the long term, those that work here for a few years will ultimately be able to collect social security and without having paid in all of their lives, that system will be bankrupt much faster than it will be now.
3. This is amnesty. Anyone that crosses the border more than once is committing a felony. The amnesty as proposed wipes the slate clean even for those illegals that are gangbangers. I don't know about you, but I don't want amnesty for members of MS-13 and the other gangs, much less a bunch of unconvicted felons.
4. The government has to perform a background check within 24 hours of the applicant filing papers. But who are they checking? The real person, or someone that has completely forged their identity?
5. We don't reward criminals in this Country. We incarcerate them. If they are illegal, we then deport them.
Your solution looks good on the surface, but it has no depth to it.
If you haven't read this bill, please do so. It's long and it's a pain to read, but at the end of the day, it is worthless because it has no enforcement teeth in it. We have laws now that we aren't enforcing. That's all that has to happen. Enforce the laws currently on the books.
Why don´t you create a spanish-speaking country instead of Iraq ?
If Iraqis do not want to be part of anything involving the US, hispanics desperately want to be in the US...

You say they don't pay income taxes. How do they get jobs then? The govt. requires employers to get identification including SS cards, drivers licenses, etc. from all applicants.
So if they are illegally working in the US, then they must have illegal documentation. Thus the employer still deducts taxes from their checks and sends the money to Uncle Sam.
Do you really think Uncle Sam turns down tax money (federal taxes, medicare, and social security) from an illegal social security card and gives it back to the employer?
