Is it really that hard to enforce our current immigration laws?

It honesty makes me think that our glorious government is run by a bunch of chimps.

Answer:
It's not hard, but in this "Politically Correct" climate we live in, the politicians are too scared about offending hispanics and losing their votes. Thus, nothing gets accomplished. BUT, the good news is that the American people are finally making their voices heard, NO AMNESTY and ENFORCE THE BORDERS! The politicians better listen to the majority or they won't get re-elected.
No, it not hard. Many Democrat congress members get extremely upset whenever the U.S. starts deporting illegal aliens.

Democrats are looking forward to having millions of new voters.

Nancy Pelosi accused the U.S. government of "terrorizing" illegal aliens by deporting after they were caught working at Walmart. (It turns out Nancy Pelosi has a conflict of interest. She also hires illegal aliens on her farm in California. Instead of paying real wages, she would rather hire illegal aliens. Even when she is worth over $50 million)
enforce is the key word here.
As long as YOU continue to give your patronage to businesses that purchase goods and services from companies that employ illegal immigrants, it will be impossible to enforce immigration laws. Drugs are illegal. There sure are a lot of drugs in the US too. Now why is that?
That depends on who you talk to. To the average person, no. Most think that it would be rather simple to do so. To the average politician, yes. If they were to enforce the current laws, then they wouldn't be able to come up with ridiculous laws that sound a lot like the old laws, and get paid for it.
If there is a will there's a way, call your senator and say hell no
No, we just lack the will both on the Democratic and Republican side due to political reasons. The new bill gives a path to citizenship in a time frame of about 6 years, which means the people who benefit from this bill would be eligible to vote for the 2016 elections. The elected officials have grow lazy and corrupt and America is for sale, the current bid is in Pesos.
Good luck and God Bless! We are passing a 3 trillion dollar budget! No.blessed friend. If the U.S. Gov. wanted illegal immigration to stop.IT WOULD CEASE!
President Bush has breached his oath of office by refusing to enforce the U.S. Immigration laws. Consequently, millions and millions of illegal aliens, mostly from Mexico, are invading our country, and our culture, language, and economic and national security, are under siege. The U.S. Justice Department, with an incompetent attorney general in charge, is prosecuting U.S. Border Patrol agents for doing their job, and two good agents are now serving over 10 year sentences in federal prison for shooting an illegal alien in the ***, when he was smuggling 700 pounds of marijuana into the United States. The illegal alien/ drug smuggler has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Government, claiming that his "civil rights" were violated! Bottom line, anything and everything, and anybody can enter the U.S. with no problems. The U.S. borders are open and broken. Our country and government are on the brink of collaspe. Soon, there will be more illegal aliens residing in the U.S. than legitimate citizens. God help us to save America, because the U.S. government has failed!
The problems with handling immigration is the same as the drug control program. There is too much money encouraging bind responses and not enough pressure to legislate effective controls. We may as well annex Mexico because unless we do all that will be gained is more drain on our system with no rewards. At least if we take over Mexico we get the oil there.
It is when you have a bigger agenda.
