Did you see that Republicans in the House took a test vote this a.m. to disapprove the Senate Bill?
By a 83-28 vote, Republicans defeated a motion to table or kill a resolution disapproving of the Senate bill. A final vote, or a letter signed by the bill's opponents, will come later today or tomorrow, its backers said.
"It's dead on arrival," Rep. Mark Souder, Indiana Republican, said.
Minority Leader John Boehner, Ohio Republican, said he had given the White House a "heads-up" that the vote was coming, and said "they weren't happy about it."
What do you think?
Answer:
Our last ray of hope is the reps. I know mines against it. They pulled through for us the last time and my hopes are they will do it again.
Thank heavens!
Contact your REPS just the same - make sure it is dead!!

I hate to say I told you so but I told you so.
I think that 83 + 28 = 111. The total number of house members = 435. Of that number, there are 232 democrats, 201 republicans, and 2 vacant positions. If opposition to the bill on the republican side stays at only 75% or lets say 150 republicans, this bill, needing only a simple majority, will pass easily even with some opposition on the democratic side.
I hope it dies in the House or we might have some BIG problems!
i can only pray your source is accurate.
YES! Thank God!!! :)
At last, some folks are listening.
The House will far more apt to disregard rewards for campaigns in hopes the people will forget how they vote on this issue. They are all up next year.
I'm giving up on the deaf and blind Senators in my state.
The House has far more common sense.
