Why does the American public think that "anchor babies" are U.S. Citizens?
Answer:
babies regardless of where they are born are the parents responsibility.
parents can abandon their kid or keep custody
Kids are minors that cannot vote..therefore they should be sent home (deported) with their illegal parents...When the kid reaches adult status the kid can apply for authorization to activate their citizenship status...
So simple yet so difficult for politicians to work out ..
Kids get uprooted all the time its not lethal if they have to live in a different place ,make new friends,go to a different school, not have fast food places on every corner or movie theaters...ask any military brat or kid whose parents move because their employer transfers them to a new city..
because most 'americans' these days were anchor babies themselves once. it is a sad, SAD state of affairs my friend. i agree with you 100%, if only more true (note i did not say 'real') americans felt the same.

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment clearly states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.."
This reminds me of a story about a boy who was from the middle east and came to America with his parents when he was two, he made a life for himself and by his twenties he was a well respected member of his community. When he was about 25 he was found out to be an illegal alien and deported back to his 3rd world country which he had never been to and knew nothing about. Now was that fair?

See that that third word there? Born. That means the children are citizens. There are two ways to be an American citizen. One is being born here and two is being born to two American citizens regardless of which country you are born in.
By saying that the parents have jurisdiction and they are not citizens is invalid. Study your constitutional law a little more.

Trust me..never heard of that before. Just like I never heard English wasn't our official language. I've been around 52 years.my daddy 80 something before that and his daddy 60 some before that...not a word about any of it. This is through wars and everything..wives married overseas.children born overseas to citizens.other "majority" immigrants....not one thing.....this is a new creation.

Excuse me but any person born in the USA is a US citizen. That sir is the law period dot end of story. This should be changed in my humble opinion but until it is, anyone born on American soil is an American citizen. This includes children born to foreign diplomats. Those children are US citizens...
Unfortunately our system is being abused. I have to agree with others, the children are citizens BUT this is NOT what it was intended for and every single person in the immigration section knows that it (the 14th amendment) is being misused, mishandled and the people of the United States are being hooked and crooked by people USING babies, kind of makes you sick doesn't it?
We all know, even if we do not admit it to ourselves, that our system is being played like a master musician plays his instrument. We are daring women to come to the US and get a free ride by having a baby on US soil and then rewarding them for doing so...
