How should the House handle illegal immigrants?
Should they be given amnesty into citizenship, provided that they meet certain criteria?
Is it fair that there are people who go about hiring lawyers and spending money to acquire legal citizenship, to not receive anything back for those who are aloud into the country w/ Amnesty?
Should we turn the other cheek and let illegal immigrants stay if they pay back taxes?

The House should pass The Secure Borders First Act of 2007. We need to increase funding for ICE and the Border Patrol. There should be no amnesty given to the illegal invaders until the border fence is completed and new agents are trained. Once the border is secure we can talk about giving amnesty to selected categories of illegals, such as, students, those here for ten years or more, college graduates, agriculutural workers and those with special skills that we need.
You are forgetting the fact that they do not want to be citizens.
Since they are illegals and no records to prove how much they made, how are you going to calculate back taxes ?

I say, cut off all entitlement (welfare, medicare etc.) to illegals.
Deport any criminals caught and already in jails asap. Increase the fines for hiring an illegal to a point where companies will go under if get caught. -all this will make a very unsuitable environment for illegals and they will have to leave the country to survive!
I know it seems harsh but so many immigrants have had the decency and moral fibre to do everything legally. Those who are illegal should be returned to their own country to apply for entry to the US in the conventional manner
No, if they really want to become US citizens then they need to prove their worth. They need to join the military for a minim of two years and help with out efforts during which time they can earn money to get their families citizens.
We should help Mexico by a civil war. Get the super rich out of power so the super poor can get descent wages.
It is not a matter of making them leave it is a matter of giving them a reason to stay in Mexico.
Make Mexico our 53 state.
As far as immigrants from the middle east stop it immediately and send them back home. Make Muslims illegal because they forment war before we start having terriorism in our shops and schools like they do.

In my opinion, yes, send them all back to where they came from. No, they should be given amnesty. No, it's not fair that people take years doing it the right way when we reward those who do it the wrong way. No, no turning the other cheek.

We allow over 3 million immigrants into this country Legally to become residents, work, or go to school each and every year.

People who make a commitment to a nation by entering legally, face the difficulties, contribute from the beginning to our country, honor our laws and customs are the ones who deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.
Illegal aliens should not be rewarded, period. The penal code is punitive for a reason, to punish lawbreakers. Sure, some claim to pay taxes, but as much as an American? No. How could we establish the amount of back taxes on people who are paid under the table? Americans who fail to pay taxes are punished and assessed heavy penalties. They are not granted amnesty.
Any form of amnesty is an insult to legal immigrants, naturalized citizens and born citizens. It denigrates honest effort, and elevates dishonesty. The amnesty of 1986 only encouraged more to come. It is time to draw the line. Be here legally or not at all.

We need to stop providing, assistance, welfare and foodstamps to illegal aliens. We need to place a reward for any information leading to the deportation of an illegal alien. We need to make their life worse here than where they came from. If we do that, we wont have to round them all up, they will scurry away like rats from a burning ship.

The above laws happen to be the Immigration Laws of MEXICO.
My problem is that they don't pay Taxes, they get free medical, food stamps and free education...and then when I walk out of Walmart they get in their big SUV and I drive my old Sentra even thought I pay $1000 in taxes each month. it seems like either I get punished for paying my Taxes or they get rewarded for not paying them.
There will always be people coming to this country illegally. that is a fact!
Establish a system that enables people to fight for getting a legal visa. I mean learning English, clean criminal record, study something, opening a business, etc
