Deportation question...?

i overheard someone saying that one of their family members was going to be able to come back to the states w/ a dr.'s excuse. is that ever legal, or is that a cover for the family to bring that loved one back to the states illegally?

The US allows for certain folks to travel here for medical purposes, usually life threatening conditions, so i would hope unless the person is really sick, thats nothing to play around with so as to come back here.
