Why bother? What in our government's history leads us to believe they will ever enforce immigration laws even if they PROMISE that in the new proposal? I think Reagan gave a mass amnesty as well, didn't he?

All the walls will not help a bit unless we get people to stop hiring illegals and the banks to stop letting them open accounts and get credit cards. THOSE are the true criminals!

as a restaurant manager, i can tell you that you don't know if the people you hire are legal or not. they always have the proper paperwork, and even their ss #'s are legit. you would have to find a way to stop identity theft and the production of fake id's, etc.
A wall isn't the answer either...if they want in, they'll find a way in.
well being an immagrant form El Salvador( im here cuz of the situation in the 80's) you know damn well a damn wall aint gonna stop us. there might be a period of time when there is not immagration, but that would be because we are just tryin to figure out how to get around, over, or under. but we will find a way

the Marine snipers are getting paid the same no matter what we have them do, and they spend thousands of rounds a year in target practice, why not let them practice on the boarder, draw a line in the sand, tell them that as soon as someone sets foot over the line (draw or paint a literal line 10 feet on the American side of the boarder) PULL THE TRIGGER!!
if there is anyone trying to cross over the boarder in a manner to suggest that they would be refused entry if trying to cross in a legal manner, they are INVADERS and should be treated appropriately

I think we just need to enforce our laws. How did our justice system become such a joke? That is the question.
So long as citizens cannot compete with illegal aliens due to fixed wages we will probably have a problem, but a properly maintained and manned wall would reduce the problem. I suggest that you make the fines for business allot steeper like around 100,000 dollars per alien per month of employment. Then use that money to cover the cost of the wall. You could offer captured aliens a chance at citizenship if they work on the wall or man it for 4 years as National Guard. For business that can't pay their fine, liquidate their assets in court to cover the cost and also offer their board of directors or owners in the case of non-cooperate business either long prison sentences for second offenses or short sentence of labor on the wall. There you go. Most of the cost is covered.
Another neat trick would be to make it publicly well known that any alien who turns themselves and their employer in will simply be deported but will receive 50% of the 100,000 dollar fine to take with them back to Mexico taxes free.

It would seem that if the government would use the social security administration to actually verify ss#'s and not allow more than one person to use the same number, it would take care of this situation.
There was a woman on television that said 120 other people were using her ss # and she couldn't even get a job because "there was a problem with HER social security number". Where is the justice in that?
A wall is a good start. A very big wall with guns and dogs and maybe a moat filled with the liquid remains of dead terrorists and liberals.
The U.S. government is not going to pay for a wall , they just adopted over 13 million Mexicans and there going to build a bridge . P.S. If there is any Americans out there well at least we lasted over two hundred year and God bless what ever is left !!!?
