amnesty bill.
This behind-closed-doors bill clearly is an amnesty bill.
12 million illegals will gain immediate legal status,
rights and benefits -- and a path to citizenship.
Even worse -- this back-room deal means no public debate.
The Senate will vote on amnesty by next Friday!
Let's be clear -- they are rushing this through -- without
committee deliberations or the normal two to three week
time for debate -- in an attempt to avoid public discussion
and grassroots pressure.

I hate it. The Government sees it like this: millions of more voters. Both parties want those votes so they can stay in power. It is a slap in the face for those who have waited years to become citizens legally.
Both sides want to claim that they fixed the issue...and will sell us down the river to do so. You are so damn right. While we need afix to this issue this not ithe answer, it should be put to the american people..but hell they no better than we do..we are stupid and need to be told what to do.
I think it sucks and who ever voted for it in my state will not be re elected.

they are rushing this because there are 20 million (12 million is way off) future voters for 2008 which will be for republican party (or at least the republicans hope). It's apart of the plan and another reason why Bush has been trying so hard to be nice to Vincente Fox. It's a deal.
So here's to another fraudulent election for 2008. Let's just say they are replacement citizens for the ones already pissed off about what the republican president has done. It may just work.
Think about it, they have to rush it. They've seen how many voted for democratic seats recently so now they are playing dirty as usual.
I would laugh if their newly appointed citizens used them and voted democrat instead.
I think people who are claiming they are here to take over the southwest are lying. If that is true then why are they spreading out to Illinois now, Florida, New York, North Carolina, Oregon and Washington?

Amnesty is the ONLY viable solution. It is impossible to find, roundup and deport 13 million people. That is MORE than the total population of the states of Colorado, Nevada and Arizona.
As far as us not having a say in the matter - that is correct, we don't. Immigration policy and law is a function of the government; not the states, not individuals.
If you are unhappy, you can voice your objection in the ballot box by voting against those who signed it into law.
