I would like to no what documents i need to marry my Cuban girlfriend?
Answer:
You need to show the following:-
1) you are legally married to each other or are in a civil partnership recognised in the UK (Marriage Cert , in English, will do. )
2) you are settled in the UK (Either british or Settled with an ideinite time stamp visa)
3) you both intend to live together permanently as husband and wife or as civil partners
4) you have met each other before (This is important) This is to not fall into the category of SHAM marriages.
5) you can support yourselves and any dependants without any help from public funds. (Its very important that your partner shows his degrees, or qualifications (if any) and convince the Visa officer that he/she can get a job easily in UK. )
6) you have suitable accommodation, which is owned or lived in only by you and your household, and where you and your dependants can live without any help from public funds
your husband, wife or civil partner is not under 18, and
you are not under 18.
At first, you will be allowed to stay and work in the UK for two years(or may be less depends on the visa officer and how well you present your case) . Near the end of this time, if you are still married and intend to continue living together, you can apply to stay permanently in the UK. (this will be a timeless visa stamp on the passport)
GOOD LUCK!!
Prenup- trust me!
plenty of prenup
Assuming you are from the US. And assuming you want to stay in the US.
The main thing you need, is to get her over here. Castro doesn't give a crap what legal U.S. documentation you have. he will keep her in that country trapped forever unless she can escape. You can have all the legal paperwork you want, Castro does not allow Cubans to leave that island.
Now if she successfully escapes and lands on American soil. She would have to turn herself in to immigration, as a Cuban refugee. They will allow her to stay and she will start the process of going from refugee to permanent resident. Once she is here you can marry her, just as anyone else.
To those jack as.es that were talking about a pre-nup. May i remind you that most Cubans who came to this country are very successful and have given their children many opportunities for success.
My family came from Cuba in 1960 when castro 1st came. they didn't know English and had no money. yet most of them are very wealthy. So if anyone should get the pre-nup, maybe its the Cuban he plans to marry.
Two options:
#1 If your girlfriend is actually in Cuba, go there, marry her and then apply for a fiance visa.
#2 Apply for a fiance visa before you marry her, then she will need permission to travel here.
Other options exists if your girlfriend is currently in this country.
Good luck.
Just go to Cuba and marry her.
where exactly are you?
We're not mind readers. Where do you both live? What citizenship do you hold?
You may have to learn how to spell
Do you really need a ducument to marry after you have her because you love her. Do the first thing.
