This how I feel about illegal immigration, do you agree or not?
We hate the problem, but not the perpetrators.
That is why I am pessimistic that anything will be done to stop it.

GOOD STATEMENT..... i totally agree with you.. and for the 1st person who answered... Mexicans did not bring all the crimes... there are all RACES in USA that cause crimes.. he needs to read the papers everyday and it has crimes caused by AMERICANS..... I find the mexican people alot more friendlier in the places they work than i do americans.. I am not against americans but I dont like the way we treat one another.. without respect and always being mean to each other.. Yes i dont like the illegal immigration that is happening and its not only the Mexican border its Canada as well.. Its just that people always point it at the Southern Border.. What do the word Illegal means? In a country that did not invite you, so you committed a crime and came in anyway.
I don't like illegals or illegal immigration, I have no desire to associate with criminals who are ruining my country for my children. I don't sympathize with criminals who take our jobs and deplete our natural resources, increase crime,overpopulate the US and drain the economy, sorry I don't agree with you. The guy who is smiling at you is happy because he just stole your identity.
I disagree. A crime is a crime, and this is no worse than someone who comes into your house sticks a gun and your face and tells you, Your money or your life. Most illegals aren't registered with the government and therefore work tax free. Half of Texas's state income tax from last year went to illegals who have no form of health care or education and policing their activities. If you shut the border down, then the state of Texas can spend the full tax dollars of the average citizen to actually help the people who not only need it, but deserve it. Illegals are nothing more than the common criminal, they break the laws and don't give a damn about it.

First of all, you can hate law breakers in general, but you'd have to include anybody who has ever broken the law.
Whoever has gotten a parking ticket, speeding ticket, etc.
Not to mention the sickos that abuse children!
Of course Mexicans are hard-working and polite. They are eager to please us...why must some of us act like complete a---holes to them?
I don't hate illegal aliens, I hate the action of the illegal aliens, being here in the USA, illegally and the invasion into our country by them. Too many are coming in..
Like 'em or not, it's your duty as an American citizen to turn these guys in and stop the invasion.

I do not agree. Hate is an ugly word but for the sake of arguement, do you not hate the guy that raped your sister, but just hate the crime he committed?
The more accurate statement is that we do not hate immigrants, just the immigrants who are criminals - the ones who come in illegally.
In my state, SC, we don't have so many illegals that we all know some of them. The poor, uneducated illegal immigrant is a burden on society as they use more in social benefits than they pay in taxes. We have an abundance of untapped labor in this country; the millions of healthy people in our nations prisons. In addition, we could use mechanical labor to replace humans in certain industries. We do need some unskilled laborers in this country, but we can get them from the hundreds of millions of people who want to work here.
In short, the US does not need the 12 to 28 million illegal aliens that are here already, and any politician who wants to give citizenship to most of these invaders is a traitor. This especially means Senators Kennedy and McCain.
I think it is a combination of both the illegal immigration and the the illegal immigrants. I don't necessarily hate them, but I hate the system that makes it so easy for them to come over here, and it really doesn't matter from what country it is from either. I used to work for a landscape company, and heard horror stories about how many people from places such as Mexico have to jump the boarder, because they make it so expensive for many of them. I was actually told by one person that only if you have money is it easy to legally immigrate to the US from Mexico. No keep in mind I do not agree with them being able to obtain medical care at little or no cost in the US, or that they can get work faster than a natural born citizen, but I do understand that they want to come here for a better life. I think it should be made a little easier for them to do it legally.
Interesting points, let's take them one by one here.
1. Based on what I have been seeing in this Country, on this website, even on this very question, most people DO seem to hate the illegals themselves, like it or not.
2. I have known many "illegals" too. All I can say from my own experience with them is they work hard, give this Country more than they take, want to learn English, want to be here, want to assimilate. They will give you the shirts off their backs. I do not want them to see hard times, in fact in MY experience, the fact that they WANT to escape poverty has made MY OWN life better.
3. You and I may "get it". Most people here don't. They DO hate the "perpetrators". In some cases with good reason, I do NOT deny many deal drugs, steal identities, abuse welfare. THEY can have a one-way ticket back. But what about the "illegal" who was taken here before they could even walk or talk? Funny how nobody on this site ever talks about this.
4. It's just not that simple. It is too easy to take the easy way out and blame the person who comes here seeking a better life. What is so annoying is virtually nobody is talking about prosecuting Businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens, running better background checks to keep the hard-working people IN and terrorists OUT, and putting pressure on Mexico and other Countries to fix THEIR OWN problems instead of sending everyone here.
Hate is such a strong word. I honestly can say I don't hate anyone. In fact I feel sorry for the illegals. We are using them as slave labor. There is zero difference between what we are doing to them and we we did to the Africans 400 years ago. On top of that it is putting legal citizens out of jobs because these people are doing them cheaper, and running up how much we all have to pay in taxes because we have to educate these peoples children and pay their emergency room bills.
Take your hypothesis and run with it.
We love our kids.
They love their kids.
Uncontrolled immigration is ruining our schools for our own children but that is NOTHING next to the impact it is having on the education of their own children.
NOTHING should stop us from joining to stop the problem going forward.
The sole exeption will be how to deal with relatives of illegals not yet here. Even there, getting rid of birthright citizenship and limiting family preferences to spouses and minor children would limit that impact. There is not going to be a painless way forward.
However, until the problem is SOLVED going forward, which the business community doesn't want, there is no ability to compromise.
And ps, the gangs and twice illegal have to go.
I don't' understand what all the fuss is about!! Other countries kick out illegals! I don't feel bad for anyone who breaks the law! If someone came here the way they were supposed to they wouldn't be putting such a hardship on Americans. I'm not talking about only Mexicans that cross over but anyone that comes here and stays past their legal time. Just apply and wait. It sucks but that's the law. And, no I don't hate anyone. How can we keep ourselves safe if we do not know the back ground of people sneaking in? Don't we have enough crime already?
