I think you're mistaking a few cities in the south west with 'most' cities in the USA.

I didn't know that Minneapolis/St. Paul had a heavy spanish speaking culture in reference to "most" cities?
Living and growing up in a true heavy Spanish speaking culture city, it doesn't bother me a bit. In fact I got a laugh recently watching the Middle Eastern owner of a gas station try to explain in broken english to a mostly spanish speaking woman, how to operate a gas pump.
I think they should do a better job of assimilating into society if they want to be here. Learn English so some idiots don't make it a national language.

I think if they really wanted to contribute to this country in a good way other than breeding, they would learn english first.

Why is it that 99% of the world can speak English (even when it's not necessary), But the Hispanics in the US can't?!??
There are some good things and some s bad thing. The goods are that they have the jobs that most people do not want like cleaning bathrooms and the bad things are that they are illegal and I have read a study that will all the aliens, aliens mean illegal people, so with all the aliens in the USA that the violence and drug dealing has gone up.
I really can't speak for others but it's ok with me.

I don't bother with most of it, only because I must first look out for myself and my own. I live in Miami, FL, where most of the population is Cuban and South/Central American. I have found that most of these people love to come over and try to impose their cultures here and love to be persecuted and looked warmly upon. Immigrants to me are fine, but the fact that they whine and want to be treated equally yet refuse to adapt and learn to live like americans do, bothers me. Yes, they should be treated equally, but they should also learn that a new country means a new way of living, and they must learn to adapt. Stop trying to make the US look like a second Cuba, or a second Mexico. If they came here to get away from it all, then why would they try to make it the same way?
If you want ME to adapt, the least YOU can do is make an effort to do the same.
I think it sucks! I live in Texas and i'm tierd of seeing billboards that i can't decipher b/c there in spanish...it's ridiculous. I think they should be required to speak english and if they can't, they shouldn't be admitted for permenant residence.
I don't mind people speaking in their native tongue at home or personally, however, I do believe they should learn and speak english as it is our nations official language. While we are a melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities we are also ONE nation and everyone must learn to assimilate.

Its fine to do it in your own community or whatever but while you're around English speaking people and you decide to go off in Spanish its rude..
