Pay a fine of $5,000?? that is a joke. What makes the govt think that they will give that much money? I doubt the govt will even make them pay that.
I see this as an easy cop out so they won't have to enforce the laws because it's just too hard. If the govt cant do this hard work then who are they to tell the citizens that they dont do hard work or aren't willing to? Oh let me guess, all white people and black people are rich.

Although I'm against the immigration reform; I believe the $5000.00; will eventually become less in the dollar amount until it becomes next to nothing. Which true poor illegal will have the funding to support this measurement? Its an expressway only for those illegals with money.
Perhaps the agenda is the unit Canada, USA, and Mexico into one huge country. Do you think our forefathers are spinning in their graves?
Bottom-line, any recent changes brought on by this Bush Administration; has done nothing but under mind the "Middle Class"; if you do away with them, we become like Mexico or worse!

Ya! It will be hell when they have to abide by laws instead of breaking them! They sure F'D up their own country so why not come here and F ours up too. Maybe you have a ransom list...you know like other laws we should change. How about this! How about they pay for their medical bills and stop using the hospital emergency rooms like revolving doors. Maybe our hospitals should do what Mexican hospitals do...hold them there until they pay their bills then we won't have so many hospitals closing!

I think this amnesty is good. After all the exploitation, imperialism in our countries and the fact that the U.S. cooperates with our corrupt governments to put down any sort of revolution, we deserve it. Sure, not all of us deserve it, especially the gang members and narco traffickers, but most of us do. I'm tired of you people talking about Mexico like you were some sort of expert on it, you know nothing about it except maybe the images you see on Lou Dobbs.
There is a simple thing that would drastically reduce illegal immigration but even suggesting it in this country will inspire every citizen who has a poor understanding of economics to despise you for life.
Remove minimum wage.
Right now citizens who obey the laws cannot possible compete with illegal immigrants because they are required to work for a higher wage. If there were no minimum wage then and no matching deductions then illegal immigrants would have very little hope of finding work. They would just be workers that didn't speak English well enough to find a job.
Combine that with increased border security, and enthusiastic deportation and our problem would disappear inside 3-5 years. Of course any politician that suggested such a thing can forget being re-elected and might get shot by some idiot that wouldn’t work for minimum wage anyway.
Is that a question.. it doesn't matter how anyone sees it, there will be no mass deportation.
Yes, the government once again has sold us out. Does anyone possibly think they will ever collect $5,000? First, the illegals can pay it over time. Will we need another bureaucracy to collect and keep track of who pays and who doesn't. We don't get a break like that in paying our taxes.
This whole plan stinks. The illegals, no matter what you call them, will still cost us $19,000 a year. Our schools, hospitals, jails, prisons will all be overcrowded. Soon they will be taking over everything.
Perhaps this is another reason they want Universal Health Care. They will have to collect more from us working tax payers so we can pay for the health which illegals will continue to get for free.
Why do we continue to elect people who are working against us, penalizing us, while they continue to betray us.
Absolutely nothing in this Bill benefits the U.S. They say they are going to enforce border control but I'll bet they will not back up those guarding the border. They will be told to 'look the other way' because the government isn't going to do anything about it.
I for one have nothing against illegals,they work, they get paid,they have never harmed me in any way,to the contrary,I can afford to eat fruits and vegetables due to their hard work and skill at growing food which is more than I can say about the " legal latinos" in the major leagues making much dinero all because they can hit a damm ball.THIS COUNTRY NEEDS HARD WORKERS OF ALL TYPES.And as for they sucking our country dry,I don't agree,as 90% of people on welfare,social security and disability are citizens.
