i overheard someone saying that one of their family members was going to be able to come back to the states w/ a dr.'s excuse. is that ever legal, or is that a cover for the family to bring that loved one back to the states?

Yes, it is legal and you wouldn't know if it is a cover, just leave them alone and don't listen to loretta. People have a right to be healthy all over the world, not only the U.S.,and sometimes many other countries don't provide health care. I don't think death should be acceptable only because of papers. You cannot really ask a forum if they are covering up, they don't know the family or their situation. =] peace.
it's a cover. if they don't go to the Dr's while here report them. and turn them in for lying, tell immigrations.
