How did Irish immigrants become American citizens in 1775-1785? What was the process to become a citizen?

Answer:
America was not formed into a sovereign nation until 1776.
So nobody became a citizen until after 1776.
The American revolution apparently put any immigration into America on hold from 1775-1783. Nobody wanted to come here during a war.
The 14th amendment wasn't even written until 1868.
I suppose if you had the nerve to come to a strange and wild land you had the right to citizenship once you got here.
After all people back then were truly responsible for their own destiny.
You ate if you could hunt or grow your food- you starved if you couldn't.
You had shelter only if you could build it yourself.
The times were really different then- the world separated the weak from the strong very effectively.
