Yeah I heard that number, $19,000..Thats so bogus.Is that a year? How do you propose to leech out $19,000 a year per citizen and how did they come up with that number.
The good illegals do is for corporate americans looking for a cheap way to get unskilled labor done. The downside is the tax burden imposed on hardworking Americans like me. In my opinion the financial gain provided by them to companies eventually turns into loss for the workers due to our taxes being spend to teach their kids, provide health insurance, and pay for random costs they cannot be forced to pay because they are not citizens, i.e. get in a car accident with one and he/she can't pay for damages.
I say give 'em the boot.
yes they are, hospitals (77) have closed down along border states. American children's education is suffering. illegals are getting free education. they keep minimum wage down. your right, they are doing great wonders for this country.

every kid in school is about $9,000 per year. A baby in the ER will go for about 10K. A bad kid in prison is about 35K per year. All that to save about $2 per hour for your leaf blower.
They're not all bad, but they're not all good either. We must weigh the positives and the negatives. THey do help our economy grow. Our unemployment rate is way too low. They do create substandard work environment and lower wages. All numbers you probalby seen are just estimates. Every group fudge the numbers to some degree and its hard to guess at accurate numbers since illegal immigrants try to hide and therefore we can't get accurate numbers on their activities.
Edit: to answer the question how illegal immigrants leach money from America. Their are other ways illegal immigrants generate cost other than education and medical.
I keep hearing how illegal immigration help sustain population growth. AS an Angeleno, I think thats very very bad. We need to shrinck LA's population. Every increase in population in LA cost a disporportionate amount of money to build infrastructure and obtain resources. THe most important is water. We don't have enough water to feed our citizens. To obtain additional water we need to get it from more expensive source. Every person added will cost more money in building roads and sewage systems. Each person cost alot of tax money to support in the U.S.. The big question is if the gains in our economy out weigh that $19,000. Finance is difficult to evaluate.
Illegal immigration causes much more harm than good. Sure, many illegals are honest and just want to work. But, with the good comes the bad. Lots of bad. It's just not worth it. They really aren't needed, all that stuff about taking jobs that Americans don't want is bull. Los Angeles now looks like Mexico. I want to cry when I remember how nice it used to be here.
They are an asset to those that like the idea of cheap labor..who would be the filthy rich. That's it. They are a burden to the working class American in many ways and more than economically. We have language and culture boundaries that are overlooked by numbskulls who only want to see things in black and white, and rainbow colors which just isn't that simple. They are devastating our health care system which is in bad shape to begin with. Many don't have licenses and kill innocent people drinking and driving. They are uneducated about sanitation and cleanliness and bring disease. Don't wash their hands after taking a crap (think about that next time you stop for a Big Mac).There is no doubt they are not doing anything that this country just can't live without. They basically are morphing the US into something else. Someplace I don't really want to live anymore.
As a Christian, I am not condoning breaking any law, but as about 20% of Mexicans trying to come into this country with the help of coyotes, end up dead or ripped of of their life savings and still stuck in Mexico, I can only assume they are leaving some very horrible living conditions, not unlike our forefathers. I have been involved with HR for large companies and also managed a staffing firm. One thing I have never heard factered into them working in this country is the fact that they pay federal and state taxes that they will never be able to file for a refund from. And the Social Security that is taken out of their paychecks, they will never see a dime of it. Since the system is going under now, what about the money they contribute that is forever unavailable to them? If there are as many illegals as they say in this country working "American" jobs, that has to amount to billions into American coffers, and used by "legal" Americans. Who said they cost $19,000 each a year? Refund all the money they have poured into SS and taxes and they can go back to Mexico and live fat.
Yes they are good at reducing wages and benefits for Americans, weakening unions breeching Security, causing anarchy and Not obeying the Law of the Land! Taking advantage of our Medical and Educational system Over burdening Americans! They have been efficient in getting Border Patrol Officers locked up and then turn around and file $5 million dollar lawsuits as Illegals smuggling drugs!
Our reps need to be Impeached and the Corporations hiring them should be locked up as Criminals for aiding and abetting foreign entities that don't belong here. they broke the law to do it and many are held as Slaves!
