If u married a us citizen, how long would it take to get a green card?

Answer:
It depends on where you are when you apply. Depending on the city/state where you reside it can take as little as 3 months or as long as a year. For my wife we got our interview about six months after we sent in the application and her green card arrived in the mail about two weeks later. (And about 2 weeks after that - her first summons for jury duty.)
Processing times vary quite a bit. In our case, from start to finish it took about a year in the state if New York.
If you married a US Citizen you become a citizen almost instant. No green Card needed... The legal way...
I worked with a woman and it took here and her husband 7 years for him to get his card. I have heard that it varies.
The processing time is roughly a year if you came to the US legally. If your are illegal it takes longer and you will have to return to your home country until your visa application is approved.
you 're supposed to marry for love, not a green card...if you're married you won't have any problems though, but i would assume that the government will take a long time to do anything!
You would first have to get a visa - K-3 if you marry abroad and K-1 if you petition to marry in the USA. That takes a few months and varies by country.

Once you are in the USA you would have to marry (if not already married abroad) and seek adjustment of status. The work permit takes 3-4 months and the Green Card about nine, but it depends on the processing center you are assigned to.

I came here five years ago on a K-1 visa and used an attorney. I highly recommend you do the same. It made the process so much easier.
Despite what some people seem to believe, marrying a us citizen does not grant you automatic citzenship. The process time will vary depending on your specific case. If you were in this country illegally and married a USC then the process will take anywhere from 1 1/2 or more years cause you will have to leave the country to adjust your status. If you were here legally and overstayed your visa then you can adjust status in country and it will most likely take around a year, maybe a little more but not much. If you have never been to the U.S. and met someone while they were on vacation in your country then the best course of action would be to file for a fiancee visa (which takes about 6 months to a year) and marry in the U.S. once youhave obtained that fiancee visa.
depends in your personal situatuion if you were legal before getting married you'bee legal after if not remains illegal >>how stupid is that>> iam married to an american citizen
well....i came here as a fiancee, and married here to us citizen, and waiting for green card 2 years!!I had interview for green card and then they send to me a letter that now it's background check...so ...i just waiting....But some of my friends received a green card faster....it depends probably from states
It depends on the situtation. For my husband & myself it took about 7 months from the filing date to get his green card - that was also with the help of our hired lawyer- (and supposedly his was faster than others because he was from england...) - I strongly recommend hiring legal help!

If you have overstayed a visa- or entered the country illegally - many lawyers will not help you for any amount of money... (our lawyer was very strict and have many requirements before taking our case on... luckily we had done everything "perfectly and honestly") you may have to return to your home country and once there apply for the proper documents -- before doing ANYTHING I would definately contact an immigration attorney to find out ALL of your options & the costs involved.... it is a very time consuming and costly process.
for work visa about one to two months and for green card one year, because you must go to interwie
It took me 7 months to get my temporary greencard.
