There is a part of me (me whiteman!) that says that I am sorry that my ancestors were too uninformed, or misguided to not say "leave them unharmed" when they discovered coloured races. I am unable to do anything about that.
However, the educated part of me says, hey! Wait a minute! If it wasn't for my ancestors I wouldn't be here. They must have done something right.
Think about that.
I'm not saying what they did to coloured people was right, in fact I would love to go back in time and say, "Donot harm them!" But who's to say that the coloured people would not have killed my ancestors first? Then I wouldn't be here to answer this question.
I'm saddened and confused about what did actually happen between the coloured people and the whites, but I cannot change that, neither can you.
Therefore, let's unite together and thenceforth say;
"Donot harm them!"

And this isn't a 'White' issue. African countries also enforce laws against illegal immigration, and if you consider Latin Americans not white, Mexico certainly enforces its own immigration laws.

I do agree we should take care of our own free countries, and allow others to care for their own. In America, we should be allowed to hunt illegal aliens. Well from the point of view of a white woman, I find it absolutely astounding that people think we truly have a great deal of input to our own government. "White people" persay are not the issue. It is, however, I believe-the white people that happen to be in power. I love my country and fully support our men and women in uniform. They choose to join to protect a nation against threats they are told exist. I also have taken classes and read a great deal on what not only this country has done at war, but others as well. I can become ill over things i have read. I do not know who said this "absolute power corrupts absolutely", but it is so true. I refuse to blame an entire race for their leaders errors in judgment or cruelty. I have known good people from many different races and know better. None of us can change the past to make the present better, the question is what are we going to do now for our future? I cannot change what my ancestors may have done, but i refuse to repeat the ignorance.

When you say white people you seem to be talking about all white people therefor you have condoned prejudice behavior. It would be in your best interest and everybody for that matter to stay away from this kind of thinking simply because your doing the very thing to others that you so dislike that happened to you. As a whole, white people are not that bad after all. The reason people are cluttered in other some countries is not the fault of white people only. There are others reasons this is happening as well. How about all the war and fighting in Africa? Are they white? Have white people caused all the genocide and killings in Rwanda, Darfur, Somalia, Nigeria?

There is merit to the question, even it is expressed in a bigoted way. There is a, "you're ok, just not near me" sentiment in U.S. society. And as most power is held by white people, they are the politicians encouraging the fervor. That is fact, not racism. But issues are never really as simple as that.
