How they get away with it? Simple. Plausable deniability. "they had green cards and SSNs. How did we know the IDs were fake? We followed the law and made copies, see. And we can't break the law by not hiring them."

They are breaking the law. Call ICE now and report their ***! And tell them to do their jobs and enforce the law. NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS! ARREST AND DEPORT, NOW!
Fake or stolen IDs. Companies as big as these don't hire them "under the table", that's done by small businesses, contractors or farm workers.
The thing is, the government should be able to track the IDs back to the employers...after all this is 2007.with the technology we have??
How hard can it be to maintain a database that locates and identifies fake or ESPECIALLY stolen IDs.

The new bill would give SOME measure of accountability to employers for hires by their subcontractors. It has become the practice in some industries to get a subcontractor to do the hiring, then the employer didn't actually employ the people at all. Business groups are all over the Senate to take that out. I wonder if it would be in any final bill?

Why would they be any different than farm workers, Construction workers, Lawn care workers, daycare workers, etc etc etc.
It is called lack of background checking by employers and our government. The real crime is the employers that hire them and the cities that have sanctuary rules that forbid asking a person of citizenship.
If we don't all continue to write, email, and call all of our local , state and federal officials, it will never stop.
Because there are plenty of this kind of jobs and a scarce of workers willing to get them. If I were you, I'd stop consuming all those products; but the funnest thing is that there you see the most complaining people about the illegal immigration.

The illegals are running around with fake papers! And corporations don't try to weed them out because it's cheaper to keep them and if they get caught "ooops we didn't know"
The only way this is going to change is if companies get fined for hiring them. IF people that rent to them as well face huge fines. I think we wouldnt need a wall or anything else. I also support cashless society and everyone gets checks so they are accountable. To get a bank account you have to have all documents. This would fix the problem as well.
The federal courts have said that legal workers have a RICO (Racketeering And Related Acts) claim for the hiring of illegals and are entitled to three times four years of damages plus court costs and attorney fees... bona petite.
