Why should any Mexican follow U.S. immigration law, when all they have to do is sneak across the border?

Obviously, there's little reason to follow a law that is so poorly enforced that there is little risk of being aprehended.

When we claim to have laws, but only offer token enforcement, it is hard to blame the offenders when they get the signal we are sending. In the NHL, before 2005, refs had wide latitude in making or not making calls. If a ref is not calling any holding violations for the entire game, it is hard to blame the player if he grabs on to a guy going past him.
This is not to say that I agree with the pathetic policies that we have in place, but when we "enforce" our border security with a wink and a nod, we shouldn't expect people from other countries to respect our laws when we don't.
They shouldn't, they don't and anyone who has immigrated to this country legally is a FOOL.
At least that is the way my friend feels. He waited 10 years to come then spent 7 getting his citizenship. He is absolutely livid and I am about as angry as he is.
Anyone who doesn't see this as amnesty needs a white cane and a seeing-eye-dog. They also need their frontal lobotomy reversed but I don't believe that procedure has been perfected yet.
We should bring the soldiers back from Iraq, take over Mexico, and add it as a state. Then, everyone that is illegal here is considered a US citizen! The only problem would be fitting an extra star on our flag for our new state.New New Mexico.
