Under the new Immigration Reform Act?
Answer:
no, they would not be allowed to stay. Criminals would be deported. They are hoping with this bill, you can get the people out of the shadows, fingerprint them and if they commit a crime, you can find them and deport them.
Criminals get deported now back to their home countries, especially those illegals and/or legal residents who commit felonies. Planes leave 3 times a week. If the illegals stay in the shadows and then commit crimes if not multiple ones, how can we find them without getting them into the system? To apply for a green card you have to get fingerprinted. this is the way it is now, and the way it will continue to be. what is the best way to find a crook? Give them a carrot that they don't realize is really a stick. the same principle applies here.
The bill includes border enforcement, increasing the number of border patrol agents, detention centers, reinforcing a fence, national strategy for border security, including ports of entry.
Section 202 of the pending bill deas with the detention and removal of aliens ordered removed.
Section 203 deals with the removal of aliens who commit a felony
Section 204 deals with the inadmissibility & deportability of ANY gang members, whether gang was from overseas or here.
Section 205 deals with deportation of aliens who are charged and convicted of child abuse, domestic abuse, stalking, violating restraining orders, drunk driving, perjury, firearms offenses.
I could go on and on. i read the bill myself. it is not perfect but it is a start. I have learned through experience to research myself, not rely on pundits to tell me how to think. I can also guarantee if you call your representative they have not read the bill themself. A prime example of this was the reissuing of the Patriot Act which made changes to Dept of Justice but NONE OF THEM KNEW IT BECAUSE THEY NEVER READ THE BILL. I suspect this is also the case for many screaming at the top of their lungs about amnesty.
I saw the garbage below about amnesty being granted to gang members. THIS IS A LIE, but then I should not be surprised that that tripe was written, the person also cited Michelle Malkin as a source- the non-white Ann Coulter.
I'm sure i read somwhere that criminals with more than one misdemeanor or a felony have to go home... :(
Knowing Bush, Kennedy, and McCain, I would say yes, but there could be an amendment in the present bill that would prevent it. Hopefully, someone like Tancredo or Sessions (with common sense) put in such an amendment.
I pray not. If a felony has been committed deportation should be mandatory! Also all of those involved in gang activity should be deported also!
What difference does it make if we don't enforce any laws on illegal immigrants now why do you think we will enforce them after amnesty? How do you propose we even FIND the felons?
Yes I think they will be allowed to stay. Unfortunately this is what our law makers want.
They've all committed 1 felony, when they illegally crossed the border.
This whole thing is a scam to override what the Minutemen started. The minutemen actually began the first real border enforcement. This bill will just open the door to "guest workers", so the minutement cannot stop them any longer. We won't need a border fence... the door's going to be wide open now.
LOL they are not even getting deported now ...and doubtfully they will if this is passed ...come on laws are being broke and Government doesnt care as long as it is not Legal Americans breaking the law
ONLY IF AMERICANS TOO GET PENALIZED FOR HARBORING THEM ALL THOSE DECADES!
How are we going to verify that these people have committed no crime? We can't which makes this amnesty bill so insane!
The fact that they come here and have their anchor babies to abuse our hard earned tax dollars through wlefare should in itself be a crime!
They have never paid income tax, yet by having a kid they get to collect our tax dollars!
That is insane!
There are shootouts at the borders between drug lords and human smugglers all the time!
How do we know who they are? Half of Mexico's military and police are corrupt!
What - do we think they have some kind of National data base that tracks all citizen crimes like we do?
Hell no
And the fact that they broke our law to come here should be answer enough that they do not respect our laws or culture!
And our Government is about to reward them - how nice
We should also be concerned about what diseases they are bringing in, especially since every fast food restaurant has them cooking for them in the back!
I don't know if this will help answer your question, but it is a link to show 20 loopholes in the bill and one of them is to grant anmesty to members of vicious gangs, and you know some, if not most of these gang members have been involved in criminal behavior. So, once they are a citizen of the US, there would be no need to deport them. http://sessions.senate.gov/pressapp/reco... Edit: Another link referring to criminals being deported:http://michellemalkin.com/immigration/20...
Yes, currently only 'agravated felonies' would keep them from being legalized to begin with or kick them out later and that is a list you can find in the bill under the definitions. ANYTHING else would still allow them to be legalized.
It's not exactly clear. Supposedly not but with less than a 24 hr. background check , not to mention various identities, and not counting identity fraud and allowing known gang members to stay if they just say they won't be anymore..I seriously doubt it will be very strict. Supposidly if they commit crimes after that they would be deported..but then we're right back where we are now. Families and anchor babies and the whole deal again. It's still going to go right back to enforcing our laws and they just don't seem to want to do that. Heck.they take to the streets here when a known murderer is deported. They're whining about being targeted for any type of traffic stop. I get the feeling they think that by passing this bill...somehow over night they are all going to turn into law abiding citizens and won't have to deal with all the other problems.
If this immigration bill pass it will have more destructive consequences then just immigration part for illegals.
Most American are so fixated on the Immigration bill only.
There are other bills your fine representatives are putting together and voting on that go hand and hand with immigration bill that are not part of it but will enhance the bill. Not to our benefit.
They are writing and passing to many bills and most will not make your live better but only worse. If a bill benefits the population as a whole you can guarantee if it passes it won't be funded or enforced.
You see that everyday.
