Well "free" health care depends upon how you look at it. It is free in the sense that you do not pay directly for it; however, there are health care premiums to pay AND Canadians pay more in taxes than Americans -- in part due to the public health care costs.

yep but gas is like 1.38 a qt. thats about 5.50 a gal here in the states

They don't want Americans flooding across their borders and using up all their health care, taking their jobs, moving into their neighborhoods. Hmmmm. We don't want the Mexicans to keep do that to us here in America either!!
** forgot to add: I've been to Vancouver BC and you will find that the Canadians are becoming a minority up there too.
Hell yeah I'm up for Canada, the way this country is going to sh%t I've been thinking of it for awhile. I actually talked to immigration about 7 years ago to see what the process was like and it's pretty tough. This was before 9/11 mind you...her exact words "come back when you have your college degree and have something to offer us. There is a reason why Canada isn't like the US, we don't let people in unless they are going to be an asset to this country." Now I have my degree and I've always loved it up there so I've been thinking about it more and more...Canada is how the US was about 20 years ago before all this illegal immigration crap and fake wars, etc. And yeah, universal health care for everyone! That will NEVER happen here, because the drug companies would be outta business. I have no problem at all paying higher taxes for health care and social programs. Where the hell do our tax dollars go here? Also, yes, I have thought about the fact that it sucks for them getting "invaded" by Americans, but the fact is, I speak English, I am college educated, and I am a firm believer in assimilation. I would never move to another country and exect them to cater to me. That's just no class.
You are aware Canada has its own "immigration problem"?
That's why this proposal cements the fact that the western way of life will be gone in the next decades.

if we don't like people coming here to the USA and doing that to us, why should we do it to others? no, i will stay in my own country. I'm not up for using others.
