#1 answer don't act like a GRINGO! You'll die before you get any help.
#2 take out your wallet and flash a few $20 bills around the medical staff. This will get you in ahead of the worse cases.
#3 bring all your own medications with you...so that you know they will work.
#4 learn to speak mexican.
#5 wait until your vacation is over and get treated in the USA
Mexico has a national healthcare system, you would recieve the care you needed and that was available.
The good thing about all this stuff outside America is that you can get free treatment at the general hospital. Ie in countries except the "LOTF", its free, get me?
You will receive treatment only if you can pay for it. The Mexican government will not allow you to leave until the bill is paid. This is the same thing that is done in Europe. National health care in these countries is only for it's citizens. Only in the US does the government treat non citizens at taxpayer expense. If a national health care system is put into place that provision would also need tobe included

My mother is an america. When we visited some of my fathers relatives in mexico, she got sick. The medical staff took care of her first, completely ignoring the other patients that were ahead of her. She does speak Spanish though.
That doesn't exist in Mexico and if exist it is only for the Mexicans. You have to go to your nearest American Embassy and they will give you help. Good luck !

Well, i remember when i was a kid, there was some teenagers from my town who had gone to mexico for the week-end. They were in a roll over accident, and one girl was pinned underneath the car. The parents were contacted, and the mexican "police" told them they could NOT move their daughter until they came up with THOUSANDS of dollars to pay them!!!
By the time the parents got the money together, the daughter had died!!!! And this is only ONE of the horror storys involving mexico!!!
I hope your question is serious. All these crazy idiots that post they won't give you medical care, have definitely not been outside their precious USA. Of course, if you are in an emergency, they will take you into any hospital without regret. America IS NOT the only country with hospitals. Even if you are a foreigner, doctors are still HUMANE. Something that can't be said about many people on here.
you dial 911, la cruz roja( the red cross) will asist you, if is something major then they will take care of you at the seguro social hospital . a doctor can not refuse treatment to anybody money or not money, is the law in mexico. even if you a minuteman the just shoot the doctors brother when he try to cross the border he will still have to help you.
