Right on- Pamela! Whenever I have posted a question that sounds pro-immigration, everyone assumes I am Latina! In reality, I'm whiter than white bread! It's just I lived in L.A. for a long time, and I saw how we whites exploit illegals... Then suddenly, it's a problem after years of that exploitation! I mean, thousands of nannies, raising rich white kids in L.A., are illegals! Half of construction is done by illegals- and it's still expensive to build there! Oh well. there's no convincing ignorant people.

In my opinion, people do this because theyre ignorant. People are predjudiced because they let idiots do there thinking for them and they generalise because its easier to do that than to take a hard truthfull look at themselves and realise theyre in the wrong.
How do you know what people think? In regards to your question I never assume what someones ethnicity is based on their answer I think most people answert because they think what they are saying is right, so it is possible for a person of any race or ethnic group to answer in defense of another if they think they are right.

Why would anyone feel the need to defend or condemn a race anyway? I think it is ideas and actions that get condemned or defended.
So consider for a moment that there are a lot of illogical arguments, including ad hominem attacks, begging the question, appeals to false authorities, and the like. Don't get so worried about illogical arguments; they are usually the result of bigotry or some other character flaw.
