Does anyone have an idea of what to do about this?

I was supposed to leave in a few weeks to teach overseas and I just received word today that that will not be happening. Because of a personal/family issue(that I have not knowledge of) my visa was denied. Is there a way that I can figure out what this "personal /family issue" was?

Answer:
They do not want you to be an illegal immigrant.
might be something dealing with money and your visa
how can we give you solutions if we don't even know which country denied your visa
