What does the advance parole look like.is it a piece of paper?

and will it matter if the name on it is different ( I took my husband's last name) than the name on my passport

Answer:
It is a piece of paper that has your information on the top of it, name, dob, address, a number. Then, it cites the section of the law that was used to grant the paroled. on the bottom left hand corner it has your picture with a seal. just in the other side there is a empty box. in that box the officer would stamp it when you reenter the U.S. and he will give you a form I-94 with the same stamp.

The name it will not matter. The name as it appears on the document it is the name that appears in the system. If it is wrong or you had changed you need to go to the CIS office an update your information.

Note: you need to bring prof of a name changes like birth certificate or marriage certificate.
