I got a better idea, instead of this amnesty bill how about this...?
So since the President is head of government, it would be the Presidents obligation to enforce the laws. So even if the President didn't want to, they would still HAVE to enforce them or else they break the law and if that happens...Impeachment!
Okay well I'm getting ahead of myself here, but this is just something I thought of. Hell it probably would not even get passed if introduced.
What do you think?
Answer:
It needs a citizen suit provision so citizens can sue the government if they don't enforce. That is what they did with environmental laws when businesses didn't want those enforced, either.
I think it is a grand idea EXCEPT I don't trust a bill under this President. (And I voted for him. Sorry.) Read the one in front of the Senate. It is full of so many 'cute' little provisions, exceptions and restructuring to match SPP I don't want to see much of anything more with Bush's signiture on it, before he leaves.

Angela, if we can get this, I'm sure we can come up with something.
Well, you forget about all those who are already here, what do we do about those? I agree, that enforcing the current laws would stop much illegal immigration, but what about all those who are here and we don't know who they are?
I've already submitted this plan and told them if they gave it a real concerted effort for 4 years to enforce what we have on the books then we would be open to something else. But they are not even trying.
I agree, better, still is no new bill , just build the Fence.
How dare you? You are a racist for wanting our laws enforced!
.
the deal with cafta and nafta is to glom land and resources in south america, all for the big boy $$ men, we the USA get to support the poor that are driven off the land...all a big scam...read whats happening as farmers get driven off the land in s america...sickening. it then becomes our burden...as they (cartels) plunder the resources..
If that's the case, the government has broken our immigration laws a long, long time ago! Good scenario, but I doubt it's ever going to happen anything like you've suggested.
NOPE THAT IS DUMB. WE WILL FIND A WAY I N ANYWAYS!! DON'T TRY TO STOP US YOU CAN'T. ILLEGALS ARE NOT CRIMINALS!!
PROUD TO BE MEXICAN!!
all are welcome
We just need to deport and enforce the laws we already have.
Isn't it ironic that our "lawmakers" choose to ignore the immigrations laws enacted in 1986, and instead seem eager to enact laws of their own?
What a vote of confidence for the lawmakers of the 1986 era. Apparently, our current bunch are not students of history. If they were, they would know that enforcement is the stumbling block to this problem, and that new legislation is not going to end the immigration dilemma.
Washington's agenda on this matter obviously supercedes the wishes of the majority of the U.S. populace. U.S. citizens want Pancho, if illegal, to pack up and be returned to his village in Mexico. U.S. citizens want effective border security first, before any additional legislation. Many polls have established that this is so. If U.S. politicians choose to ignore a clear mandate from the public, they must be prepared to suffer the consequences when they run for re-election. They WILL be voted out! They should be reminded to remember the history of November 7, 2006. There very easily could be another purge in the near future.........
sure would not. Booyah.
The Goverment is nothing but a whore for the Corporations!!
