Yes. I got that he is not at all concerned with illegals crossing illegally, just with how to get them legalized. I still think if all those illegals are getting across by swimming, terrorists could be in the mix as well.

I missed the speech (past my bedtime). but would be deeply offended if illegals were to be given amnesty. I came here legally. I followed all immigration laws, paid all the fees required and kept to all restrictions imposed for three years. Right down to not claiming financial aid for school. I have no complaint with that. I do have a problem with people being told it is OK to break the law. Burglars break the law but, hey, they only do it so they can feed their family or give their kids a decent Christmas, so that's all right isn't it? Jail? Oh no, because they're not really criminals are they?

Seems that is what our President is apparently promoting (possibly at the behest of the agricultural lobbyists who are without doubt encouraging the stance he has taken).
I thought that he had sworn to uphold the laws of our land - not to ignore them and cast them aside. Instead of caving in to special interests, he should be pressuring law enforcement to get cracking while he busies himself with finding the funds that will help them bring our borders under U.S. control.
Our nation can construct a station in space, but finds itself helpless to control our borders? Uncle Sam shouldn't ever say "uncle!" And lobbyists should be ejected along with the illegals..............!
