Is there a I-797 form issued (similar to H1B visa) for B1 business visa?
Answer:
The only reason I could think of you getting an I 797 Notice of Action is if you requested and extension while in the US. Other then that no Notice of Action is issued when the B-1/B-2 visa is issued.
No the I-797 is just a notice of action. Whenever you file any application with the CIS service they will respond to you with an I-797, Notice of Action. It could be a receipt that the CIS service has receipt you application or it can be a letter stating that you have an appointment or you need more documents.
The B1/B2 visa is the same visa (document) issued to a traveler that is going to visit the U.S. as a tourist or to conduct some type of business. An example of an entry of a B1, visitor for business, would be a training course that is giving in the U.S. or it can be a meeting related to business.
A B1 entry does not allowed the alien to work in the U.S. Just conduct business related matters.
