Add on immigration amendment idea?

Since Congress has a nasty habit of passing legislation promising to enforce immigration laws and then kind of forgetting about it, what would you think about this amendment? The idea behind it is that the main draw for people sneaking across our border isn't welfare, but jobs. Employers who can get away with it pay these illegal workers under the table and cause an undue burden on the rest of the tax base by needing to pay for healthcare, education and a myriad of other problems. Therefore this amendment would target the employers with a vengence.

We should start paying a bounty to ICE agents to ferret out employers who are hiring illegal aliens. If an illegal alien is found on the pay roll and the business is forced to pay it's $10,000 per alien fine, as per the 1986 legislation, the agent(s) who initially cracked the case would get 5% of the fine in a cash bonus per illegal alien. The potential windfall to agents is paid by employers who are breaking the law. Thoughts?

Answer:
A good idea. Any serious proposal to deal with immigration, whether it be amnesty or mass deportation is going to have to be coupled with real enforcement of the border, or else we'll wind up in this situation again some years later.

A better way of handling it would be to pass a bill tightening the border first, only, then pass an amnesty bill a year later. But this is just me being sensible, surely the government has better ideas.
Didn't you hear? They aren't amending it except for those they put on a list prior to opening debate this morning. Those they have already predetermined which ones they will oppose or pass.
illegals actually do pay taxes its called a tin number..and if they are using a fake ssn how will they claim that money?? Also to the people saying that illegals just use up the welfare system..how can they do this if it is only available to U.S. citizens..most of the people that use it are in hood and have never worked a day in their life
why are you so mean ? just leave these employers alone gosh--its notlike the immigrants come here for wellfare.. how can they claim that anyway.!? riiiiiiiiiite rethink your question or worry about something else
