Need to get a US Visa fast and cheap.?

My boyfriend needs to come to the US from Australia next month. And, we dont have a lot of money. We wanted him to just come on the Visa Waiver Program but just read he needs a return ticket to enter. We plan on getting married, and getting him naturalized as a US citizen. Is there a cheap and fast way to get him into the US? A fast way to get a visa for US entry that doesn't require us to show lots of money or buy tickets that we can't really afford? Please help. Thanks so much. It's June 6, and his flight is July 10.

Answer:
To qualify under the VWP, he has to have a return ticket to a foreign destination. This may be cheaper than one-way. He can always schedule the tickets apart - e.g., Australia-US now, then US-Canada a few months later. Keep in mind that your boyfriend is barred from becoming a permanent resident if he enters on the VWP unless he marries a US citizen (8 CFR 245.1(b)(8)). The alternative would be for you to file Form I-129F to get him a K-1 fiance visa. This might take about six months.

If you are concerned about money, you also need to be concerned about filing papers for him in the US. Right now, the filing fees alone run close to $1000 and they will roughly double on July 30. Also, to sponsor an immigrant, you must show that you make 125% of the poverty line for your family size or that you have a co-sponsor. Check the USCIS website for information on sponsoring him for a green card. He won't be eligible for citizenship until at least three years after he gets the green card.
Buy a return ticket to a place where the flight will be cheaper like Canada, and don't use it unless his visa expire. Do not let him stay in the US illegally as it will affect his chance of getting citizenship.
Oh, and BTW all of this process does take money...

Get a refundable ticket and then cancel it after he's here!
Unfortunately when it comes to getting into the USA there's no such thing as fast or cheap. It can be a long process to immigrate legally and certainly costly (6 months - years). For a visit, isn't there a U.S.A embassy or consulate where he's from? That's the best place to get the visa and it shouldn't take more than a week or two. Most places wont give a visa without a return ticket, especially if you're coming ino the USA.
