Why is Latino community angered by 24 arrests of illegal aliens?

It continues to amaze me how many people in this forum still don't understand the fact that "illegal immigrant" means that they broke an INTERNATIONAL LAW to get into this country. And that does make them an international criminal, no matter how many people try to resist that designation.
I also love when people make the analogy to getting a speeding ticket. When one gets a speeding ticket, one generally has to pay a fine and go to traffic school. So doesn't it stand to reason that if one is caught illegally crossing the border, they should also have to pay a fine? Or in this case, instead of a fine, they are deported. Every action has CONSEQUENCES. If you partake of an action that is ILLEGAL, you must be prepared to pay the CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTION. What the US government is doing with the illegals is the equivalent of giving speeders a free oil change and a tank of gas (or more, in some cases).
So, I have to ask... where's my oil change and tank of gas? Because if these illegals can get all these benefits that I as an American citizen am not entitled to, then the government better damn well be giving me something.
To InHouston - NEWSFLASH HERE, they ARE criminals. If you try to jump the border into pretty much EVERY OTHER COUNTRY ON THIS PLANET, they will treat you as a criminal. You go try to sneak into China, and I'll buy your gravesite, because they'll shoot you on sight trying to cross the border. You go try to sneak into Russia, and I'll buy your gravesite there too. Hell, go try to sneak into MEXICO from the southern end, and I'll buy you a gravesite there too. The US is probably the ONLY COUNTRY that does NOT treat illegal immigrants as criminals.
Yes, I got upset that immigrants get arrested when they just want to work. They are not criminals!

I don't think it is about those particular folks who got arrested ... I think the reaction (rightly or wrongly) is more indicative of a shock wave that went through this community, where other Latinos, sitting home and watching this on local tv thought to themselves, "Are we next? Why are they now coming after people in our community? We work and contribute here, as evidenced by our employment. Why are they picking on us? They have never done this here before."
because it is a violation of their rights to just barge in and arrest them randomly, at the border, its a risk they take, once they get in, they're safe. They just want to work and in doing so they improve your economy better to have 10million people supposedly "leeching" off the already non existent welfare, than several hundred rich corporate scum leeching off the economy in the millions!! say theres 3,000 corporate execs and each of them commit a white collar crime and take 60 million dollars, thats 180 billion dollars!! of course there could be more than 3,000 corporate thugs, and thats just corporations, not even counting the politicians.....

Punishment for habitual criminals is usually considered appropriate. If I broke the law and was convicted of a felony ( generally defined as breaking a Federal Law)Then I should expect the maximum penalty. Deportation after multiple crimes should only happen after having served the appropriate time in prison. Joe Arpiao in Pnx might be a horses *** , but NOBODY wants to go to his CITY JAIL, Why cant the Govt.( sorry....WE)prosecute ALL criminals the same...
Because they know it's only a matter of time till they are arrested too!!!! Why else would they be upset about people breaking the law being arrested? Not the entire Latino community, mostly only pro-illegals or those that are illegal theirselves. Most legal Latinos (as well as all other legal citizens) are angry as hell at illegal aliens. After all, they waited in line, worked their as**s off to get here, and others come here illegally and expect, no demand, to be granted amnesty.

i'm not upset that they were arrested b/c they did have criminal records. but i don't necessarily think it's ok to arrest people suspected of being illegal immigrants. how do you suspect that they are illegal? i mean you either know that they are, know that theyre not, or don't know at all....how did they pick out these 24 guys exactly??
to be suspected of something there must be evidence that you might be guilty. well in my opinion the only evidence that tells whether youre illegal or not is actually a f*cking green card or no papers or whatever. which tells them that those kiddies are in fact illegal. and so ok arrest them if you must. but these 24 kiddies were only suspected and on what evidence?

Miss Sassipant...apparently you are not too familiar with the legal system of the U.S. Every arrest that is ever made is because the person/people arrested is "SUSPECTED" of committing a crime. They are innocent until proven guilty. They then go before the judicial system consisting of a judge and jury that either finds the "SUSPECT" innocent or guilty based on the evidence presented. If you don't agree with the judicial system here, you are free to find another country!!!
probably because during wwII thousands of japanese US citizens were put in internment camps because they were "suspected" of being agains the US, or those people in hollywood who were "suspected" of being communists. i'm sure the latino community was outraged because you can't go around raiding everyone whose brown and hangs out at walmart. that's not what the US is about. they aren't mad because some criminals were caught...don't be stupid.

I just love how many just think it's fine and dandy to break the law and then claim that no matter how they're caught it's not fair. Yahoo! I want to hear of more and more and more of these arrests and deportations happening! I don't believe these people were picked on because of their "color." They were obviously tracked to where they are and their previous criminal activities and deportations and orders for deportations were all part of the tracking process. This does NOT tell me that the police or Immigration officials are going to be randomly barging into anyone and everyone's homes simply based on "suspicion" of being here illegally or becaue of brown skin. Give me a break!
