Sure, people from anywhere can take advantage of the "path to citizenship." Somebody from Pakistan can print up a phony telephone or electric bill which purports to show he was here before January of this year, or he can get a letter from someone who was here legally attesting to his being here before then, and he gets a permanent legal status within 24 hours. This will make it very easy for terrorists now living abroad to become residents of the US with legal status.
And the 24-hour background checks will of course be a farce. Law enforcement people tell us it will take 3 days to a week to do a proper search, which I suppose is why a one-day time limit was put on the background check by the bill.

Nearly anybody from any place on the planet can become a citizen if they go through the proper channels. This bill is about granting amnesty to illegals and providing slave labor to big corporations. i have never seen anybody from Saudi Arabia picking oranges in Florida or lettuce in California.
I don't know why you people think it should be stopped. I don't have a problem with anyone 'immigrant' coming into this country, but I think it's disrepectful not to learn the language. But instead, you have our kids being forced to take Spanish in school. Do you know how pissed off people in France would be if you went over and didn't have the curtosy to show them the respect and speak their language? They'd have your head. The protests, since I live in Chicago, are not needed and are immature. Come into this country the right way and a more civil way. Not by jumping over a fence like some animal and if thats the case, you should be treated like one, despite your ethnicity.

You hear so much about Mexicans (which is profiling, because many of these people are Guatemalan, San Salvadorian, Ecuadorian, Brazilian, Peruvian, Cuban, Panamanian, Et Al), because they are entering the country ILLEGALLY! Everyone ignores this point! It's not that we don't want you here, it's that we don't want you here ILLEGALLY! We welcome people who do it right! That's how we screen out the criminals and terrorists! When you come ILLEGALLY, we assume you have something to hide! Like your one of the people we don't want! Get it? Any other country would lock you up forever, or worse yet, shoot you! Like most of the countries you come from! So why do you ***** about how rough it is here?? We don't shoot you, do we??
The new bill, if it ever passes covers everyone that is here illegally. It doesn't matter where you are from, as long as you can pass the background check and you qualify under the guidelines set forth by the bill.
