I believe there can be something done in order to help the people migrating to the US illegally. I do not believe in ridiculing them just because they did not have the privilege to be born in the US.

Not all illegal immigrants should be illegal many have a legal right and claim but processing times keeps them out of status if you had a legal heridatary right to be in a country through for example birth and you had to wait outsidde the country for around 25 years before you could be with your parents/children etc what would you do?
Make the processing times more humane 25 years for a European and 160 years for a Mexican is plain cruel and inhumane.

it is my contention that was america not involved in this "war on terror," and if we had adaquate employment for our country many of these illegal immigrants would hardly be noticed. however, though the us government has taken on a task of policing the world they seem to be sorely lacking in domestic security.

I do believe they should legalize all those illegal people that have children here and that have been working in the USA for a long time, I do agreed that we need the border to be fully secured and those illegal people that just made it to the USA should be taken back to their country and I'm not just talking about Mexicans only, we don't only have illegal Mexicans here theirs many of other illegal people coming from different country specially the ones the come to terrorize our country
It is quite a joke. Our media refers to the issue as Immigrant rights. This is misleading. They should be calling these people illegal immigrants. It is a joke. For the people who say that allowing them legal passage, will somehow benefit us due to the addition of 16 million more tax payers are in Disney Land. The truth of the matter is that each one of them will be a considerable drain to the American tax payer estimated to be $20,000 annually in 2006 dollars, based on the number of free entitlements which they will iimmediately be eligible for.
This same number of United States tax payer burden is the exact number currently used by our Federal Government in determining the average burden that is currently placed on the rest of us by each American citizen who has dropped out of high school. This is their negative burden per year as an average cost to us the citizen taxpayer, averaged out over the span of their lives..
This includes services like, police,fire, system support, welfare,food stamps, Medicaid, emergency services etc., etc., These will be the identical amenities now availability to these former illegal aliens.
All services and amenities along with our outrageous current family chain citizen plans- need to be stopped mmediately. This will actually instill at least some control over the situation

Be honest to yourself now!: you fall in line in a grocery, dept. store , a bank, a service station, a bus depot, an airline terminal, or a train station and just when your about to do your business, - somebody tells you that you can't, because there's a whole lot of people who need to go ahead of you! Is this ok with you? This is what illegal immigrants to the US have done to others who wait in line to get in to the US!
Now, the alternative for the illegal immigrants (who the American people, or at least the US Gov't., don't seem to have the will to send back to their countries of origin for whatever stupid reason) : Without exception, require them to do military duty for 24 months at minimum wage (the wage they are willing to get now anyway!) and deploy some of them to the war zones. If they complete their tour of duty they become citizens! Is this ok with you?

No, I don't support illegal immigration, but, I can be sympathetic for some of the reasons that people have no choice (political, economics, health etc) to seek a better life. The USA isn't the only country in the world with immigration issues. Africa, England, France etc. just to name a few. I also can't understand our legislature for dragging their keysters on this issue. There are immigrants in England that want work there for a while and then go back home. We have people here on student visas that are expired and now they are illegal. We are so divided on this issue it brings race into play. This is a bureaucratic mess and will take months or years of paper work, personnel and money to straighten out. It's created a whole new industry for immigration lawyers and the courts. If someone thinks that they have a solution from their keyboard it is probably illegal or inhumane. (oh look, there's that thumbs down thing.)

Their are about 6.5 billion people in the world... hundreds of millions would come to the United States today if they could legally get into the country... why do we show racial favoritism to mostly Hispanics whom we have fought in several wars over the years to keep our countries seperate?
