Your Civic Responsibility and Facts on Immigration?
Refugees/Asylees are admitted on a limited basis based on political and humanitarian reasons. The maximum numbers vary year-to-year based on Presidential determinations.
What is the difference between legal immigrants and citizens?
Legal immigrants are basically entitled to the same rights as citizens although they cannot vote or hold political office. About 40% of immigrants become citizens through a process called naturalization. To become naturalized, immigrants must reside in the U.S. for five years. Most must demonstrate a proficiency in English and knowledge of U.S. history and government.
Why the United States is experiencing a new "wave" of new immigration?
Answer:
I think the reason is as it's always been, the great dream to come here and prosper while having freedoms that are not granted in other countries where immigrants feel oppressed or persecuted. Take China for example and what happens to those who find religeous inspiration and what would happen if they wanted to practice thier religeon? In other countries, thier economy is very poor and the work they must do to maintain thier families is often so horrendous they are better off here on a low income job many wouldn't normally take. Sometimes there is fear of harm as sad to say, where again religeon plays into things. I can only imagine the fear and threatening atmosphere that must accompany a jewish person living in an Islamic Country, and vice versa. The freedoms of religeon, speech, to bear arms ect.. basically the bill of rights in our constitution are things in other countries that are not addressed or provided for.

Wrong. They are entitled to live and work and pay taxes.Unlike American citizens who can receive Government Benefits of any type including welfare and Social Security. This is speaking of legal immigrants. For refugees it doesn't hold true.
The US is experiencing a new wave of immigration because the nations that they are coming from cannot provide for their basic needs. They can not get a job, if they get a job they cannot get one that supports the family. etc etc etc
I just love the way you express the facts, keep them coming.
