Most likely, they will be able to file low income status or something and then the taxpayers will have to pay that for them too.
You know most of them don't make any money, the government already pays them low income benefits (medicaid, wic, ebt cards, etc.) so then you know that will just be another thing we have to provide for them.
Everyone does not really see that this is going to be a quick way for government to make money. If the illegals qualify for the low income status and prove they can't possibly afford it, we will all pay it for them. The government wil lget the money either way.

Sure, they could just run back to Mexico! But as for a legal waiver of the fine, allowed by the state and federal government, I'm not sure. There certainly has to be some allowance for this because most illegal immigrants do not have the resources to pay such a fine. I would venture a guess that this $5,000 fine is more of a diversion than anything. The government is hoping that illegals who are caught and deported will stay away because they can't pay that fine and will thus have warrants (in essence, the gov hopes to divert them from returning because they can't pay the hefty fine). I don't think it will work but it's worth a shot.
nope, they will have to pay $5,000 in a 8 years period. that is 40 thousand dollars. they think they have got something free. they will have to go back to their own country to apply for citizen ship. tancredo said it is just a cover up for amnesty. we still have 18 months to tell our govt no. watch ABC world news. Of course there will be a waiver. This whole legislative package is broke right from the start. Illegal is illegal and until some of the morons in Washington figure that out we are doomed to continue this crap for as long as the United States exists. I figure at the rate we are circling the bowl I will probably see the end of this nation.
I am 59 years old and in less than perfect health. I have 15 years left tops with less than 10 being a very real possibility.

God, I hope not! The whole thing is a farce IMO. I don't get why deportation is a bad thing. If they just started cracking down on the illegals who are here and the businesses which hire them, they could get rid of the majority based on just that! If the illegal aliens hear we are cracking down, then they will start taking care of it themselves and go back. In one way I can see why they AREN'T afraid of getting caught here...it is because the laws that we currently have aren't enforced...and the fact that they probably wont ever be enforced is the sad truth.
Nothing will change and in another 20+ years...maybe sooner we will be again talking amnesty.
