You know I use to think these organizations like the La Raza or MECHA were for the betterment of Latino peoples of this country, but in reality they don't give a ****. They are like the KKK..only for them.

Technically it means "the race"...but white racists take it too literally. Mexicans are really trying to say "the people" or "my people".

ancestory as in the rest of Latin America...even blue eyed blondes and a great majority Argentina.

Well lets put it this way. La Raza touts themselves as a "civil rights" organization. Now if that were true then why aren't they screaming their heads off about the two guys named Ramos and Compean? Here are two guys that had their civil rights stomped on (along with another guy named Hernandez). La Raza is strangely quiet on this.Hmmmm. Oh that's right, Ramos and Compean are Border Patrol agents and Hernandez was a Sheriff doing their job trying to keep drug smugglers and illegal aliens out.
Apparently the only Hispanics that deserve La Raza's attention are the illegal ones and the criminals. Anyone that opposes their agenda gets thrown to the wolves.
Guess it will be up to us "racists" to try and get these three American heroes out of jail.

No it translate "the people" in Spanish some words can mean more than one thing and in English some words just have one meaning.
NO SWEETTIE, la raza, means what anybody call themselves between each other (and identification between them), by ex, mexicans feel a lot of proud of calling each other la raza, because thay know that that's MEXICAN, ALL THE WAY, another ex, I am DOMINICAN, and we do call everybody PRIMO (cousin), so like that we know that as soon somebody say that word is from our country, what's yours???????

Literally, LA RAZA means "the race" or the popular mass.
I dont see the link of the name with racist actions, like the KKK or similar others...It means simple "the People" or more specifically "Our people".
